SGAC Workshop to Discuss the Upcoming ESA Ministerial

11 August, 2014

On December 2, 2014, the Ministers of all ESA member states in charge of space activities will conduct a one-day Council meeting in Luxembourg. They will be invited to take decisions on few key topics: Launchers, the International Space Station (ISS) and future of ESA including its relations with the European Union. The decisions taken at the Ministerial will influences greatly ESA space agenda and consequently, in the light of joint programmes, partnerships and collaborations, also the agenda of other space agencies and countries even if they are not part of ESA.

The European NPoCs proposed a project aiming to write a white paper on the ESA Ministerial Council 2014 to make"our voice" heard as future space leaders on the topics addressed by the Council meeting. SGAC has already taken a similar action in the past with "The SGAC Community's Perspective on the Augustine Report and Human Space Flight" in 2010. However, instead of preparing a response to decisions already taken, this white paper will aim to add our inputs to the debate.

In order to achieve a "community" perspective, SGAC is organising a workshop on September 28, in Toronto, Canada. European, but also non-european, delegates of the Space Generation Congress (SGC) are invited to participate in order to create a productive session. The results of the workshop will be translated in recommendations to be used in the white paper

When: September 28 -  From 10am to 2pm

Where: Room 802B of the Metro Toronto Convention Center (IAC Venue) in Toronto, Canada
