SGAC, Young ESA, and ESTEC Staff Association Committee Presents the Young Space Professionals in Europe Workshop

Last September, SGAC signed an MoU with Young ESA with the aim to strength collaboration between both groups, and to increase the interaction between all young professionals in the European space sector and promote the exchange of ideas.

Now, SGAC and Young ESA, together with the ESTEC Staff Association Committee are proud to present a full-day event on the 25th April at ESTEC/ESA, targeted to young professionals and students in the space sector who pursue to built their career within the European space sector.

The event will bring together young professionals and senior professionals working at ESTEC/ESA in Noordwijk, The Netherlands, to enable a forum for discussion on topics such as type of contracts, how to prepare for an interview, current programmes at ESA, etc.

The day will end up with a technical visit to the main facilities at ESTEC with explanations form experts in the area.

How to apply?

  • If you are an SGAC member, in between 18 and 35 years old, with an interest on space, fill out the form below to register. Places are limited!
  • The registration for the event is for free. Note that it does not include lunch, and that SGAC is not covering any accommodation or expenses
  • After filling the form, if your application is valid, you will receive a confirmation e-mail

Note: SGAC, Young ESA and ESTEC Staff Asssociation are planning an informal get-together on the 25th night. If you wish to join the dinner please indicate that in the form – this dinner will be on your own.

Morning Session – Room Einstein

10hr: Welcome by Young ESA and SGAC

10:30-13h Focus day workshop with ESTEC staff representatives, HR and other experts Discussions

You can expect: Staff and Contractor type of contracts, required skills usually asked to work in the space sector, how to prepare interviews, training programmes at ESA, Research Fellows, Young Graduate Trainee, ESA missions, and much more!

13-14hr: Lunch. Participants can enjoy lunch at the ESTEC Canteen – Not included in the registration of the event.

Afternoon Session – Meeting Point: tbd

14-16:30h visit facilities ESTEC/Erasmus Participants will enjoy a visit to the some of the technical facilities at ESTEC (eg. Test Laboratories, Concurrent Design Facility, or others, depending on availability). The visits will include technical explanations from ESA experts.

Evening Plan - Informal Gathering Dinner

After the event, we will all gather in an informal dinner in the restaurant Luxor Leiden. This event is open to everybody with an interest on space, not only for young professionals!
