Andrea Jaime (SGAC Executive Director), Minoo Rathnasabapathy (SGAC Deputy Executive Director), Chris Vasko (SGAC Chairperson) and Victoria Alonzoperez (SGAC Co-Chairperson) nominated the SGC 2014 Local Organising Committee:
“The SGC 2014 LOC were integral to the success of the SGC 2014 in Toronto, Canada, and should be awarded special acclaim this month. Each have volunteered their time, energy and creativity to make the 2014 Space Generation Congress a successful event. SGC delegates felt welcomed, energised and part of a larger community thanks to their efforts. We simply could not have done it without their tireless support.”

He has been playing a leading role in introducing satellite applications to the new field, which is sustainable development of developing countries, as the first and only staff in charge of space technology.
SGAC membership has been steadily growing throughout the years. Among our membership there are many incredible young space enthusiasts who should be recognised for their hard work and contributions to SGAC. In December 2009, the SGAC Executive Council decided to acknowledge one member per month for his or her outstanding work and contributions to SGAC and its goals, and we continued this until today.
SGAC is proud to present the SGAC June 2014 Member of the Month: Lewis Groswald (Space Generation Fusion Forum Manager, and the SGFF Team)
Lewis Groswald is a Staff Assistant with the United States Senate Subcommittee on Science and Space of the Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation. He has worked on NAS studies covering a wide range of topics, including near-Earth objects, orbital debris, microgravity research in space, and the Earth and space sciences.
Reinhard Tlustos (Austria) NPoC, Austria, nominated Lewis, here is his quote:
I would like to nominate the Space Generation Fusion Forum Organisation Team. They worked together crossing countries and timezones to organize a really great Fusion Forum, always staying professional, courteous and fun. I am grateful to have been part of this and experience the SGAC can-do spirit!
Since it's member and not members of the month I would like to nominate Lewis Groswald - Fusion Forum Manager to represent the whole team. We all worked hard to make the Fusion Forum a success, but Lewis, without a doubt, had the most work (or the biggest headache?) to keep it all together, to coordinate a small team around the world across multiple time zones. He always showed great motivation and professionalism and never lost the overview or his smile.
The Fusion Forum has been a success in great part to his excellent leadership.
Here is Lewis' reaction:
This is a fantastic honor and I couldn't be happier to be receiving this from one of my favorite organizations!
Chris Vasko, SGAC Chair:
Congratulations Lewis, well deserved. I am glad to see that our team and Lewis are recognised in such a way. The Space Generation Fusion Forum 2014 was a fantastic event, with a really good atmosphere and some exceptional people and discussions. Lewis and our team did not only work long and hard to bring it all together but were at the heart and soul of it all. Focussed, professional and dedicated all the time, Lewis represented our generation and our organisation in a very natural and balanced way. We wish him all the best in his new position and thank you for being on board this year!
