SGAC membership has been steadily growing throughout the years. Among our membership there are many incredible young space enthusiasts who should be recognized for their hard work and contributions to SGAC. In December 2009, the SGAC Executive Council decided to acknowledge one member per month for his or her outstanding work and contributions to SGAC and its goals, and we continued this until today.

SGAC is proud to present the SGAC September 2015 Member of the Month: Daniel Brack, National Point of Contact for Israel

Daniel Brack

Daniel is an MSc student in Aerospace Engineering at the Technion in Haifa, his research focus is on satellite relative motion and orbital state estimation. Daniel is the NPoC for Israel (2014-2016), he has a BSc in Aerospace Engineering from the Technion and is an ISU SSP14 alumi. Daniel has a blog about his space related activities at http://dnl2space.blogspot.co.il/.

Daniel was nominated by his colleague Yevgeny Tsodikovich, National Point of Contact for Israel:

"Before Daniel, Israel didn't have an NPoC for some time and SGAC didn't have any activities in Israel. As Daniel got the nomination, he worked hard on reviving the activities of SGAC in Israel by promoting the organization and space in different forums (for example: Ilan Ramon Space Conference, IACAS Conference, Yuri's night etc').

In addition, Daniel acts as the LOC lead for the upcoming SGC2015 in Jerusalem and he does an outstanding job in organizing the local team, contacting the local vendors and promoting the conference in Israel. His hard work, original ideas and managing skills are key factors in the success of the SGC so far."

Here's Daniel's reaction:

"Yevgeny, what have you done?!? It’s a great honor to be acknowledged for the work being done in Israel towards SGC15, I couldn't have done this without my local team Yevgeny and Yonatan^2 and the collaboration of the whole SGC15 team led by the awesome Jan Svoboda. I'm looking forward to all the SGAC activities we'll have in Israel as a result of SGC15."

From the SGAC co-Chair, Stephanie Wan:

"It's hard to provide a quote that encompasses all the effort Daniel has put into SGAC over the past year to make this event a success. Usually the Space Generation Congress (SGC) Team gets all the spotlight and recognition after the event is over each year for the amazing job well done. However, with T-7 days until SGC 2015 (and the team buried under emails from all the final SGC planning details), it goes to show that amongst his colleagues, they believed in the importance of recognizing how Daniel has gone above and beyond.

He has been the glue of the SGC Local Organising Committee, insight into the Jewish culture and land, magician who has helped make all the nutty last minute SGC planning requests happen. Thank you for all the awesome work you've been doing and I can't wait to be in Jerusalem next week for SGC2015 and congratulate you personally!"
