SGAC held an election in the Africa region for the Africa Regional Coordinator position. It is our pleasure to announce that Mr. Oniosun Temidayo Isaiah (Nigeria) have been elected for the position. We would like to thank outgoing Regional Coordinator, Suki Sule (Nigeria), for his services to the organisation during his term.

One of the main missions of SGAC is to facilitate access to the world's major space conferences for young professionals and students. The Global Grants Programme is now seeing its sixth edition, enabling four outstanding SGAC members to attend the 6th Space Generation Fusion Forum and the 33rd Space Symposium in Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA.

SGAC is proud to announce three new opportunities to support SGAC members to attend upcoming events in 2017:
- The SGAC-GSA – New Navigation Horizons Scholarship will support a European student or young professional to attend the Space Generation Fusion Forum 2017 in Colorado Springs
- The Canadian Space Agency's student participation initiative for the International Astronautical Congress will provide support for Canadian students to attend the Space Generation Congress 2017 in Adelaide
- The Italian Space Agency (ASI), in collaboration with the Space Generation Advisory Council, promotes and sustains the participation of university students and PhD candidates enrolled in Italian universities in the 16th Space Generation Congress (SGC) and the 68th International Astronautical Congress (IAC) through the ASI-SGAC Grant 2017.

As the term of SGAC Chair, Stephanie Wan (USA), is slowly coming to an end, SGAC is excited to announce that nominations are now open for a new Co-Chairperson.
