UN/IAF Workshop and IAC Scholarship

Deadline: 3 May, 2011


Description: Thanks to the continuous cooperation between SGAC and the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UN-OOSA), SGAC members are being offered the opportunity to attend the 2011 UN/IAF workshop on the theme "Space for Human and Environmental Security" from 30 September to 2 October, 2011, in Cape Town, South Africa. Winners will also be invited to attend SGAC's Space Generation Congress, 29 September to 1 October and the International Astronautical Congress 3-7 October taking place in Cape Town.

Move an Asteroid Competition

Deadline: 1 July, 2011

DLR Scholarships (3)

Deadline: 13 June, 2011

 

Description: This award will be selected by the Space Generation Congress (SGC) organisers and DLR to award up to three university students from Germany who demonstrate outstanding activity and motivation in the space sector prior to SGC and IAC.

This competition is open to all university students of German nationality and is only open to people who apply for SGC 2011.

Peter Diamandis Scholarship

Deadline: 7 July, 2011

 

Description: This award will be selected by members of the Executive Council of SGAC to award a delegate that demonstrates outstanding activity and motivation in the space sector prior to SGC and IAC.

This competition is open to all university students and young professionals and is only open to people who apply for SGC 2011.

Women in Aerospace - Europe: Grants for Young Talents

Deadline: 30 June, 2011

 

Description: This award will be awarded and selected by Women in Aerospace - Europe (WIA Europe).  Two 500 EUR grants are available.  Each winner will also receive one year's membership for WIA Europe.

This competition is open to university students and young professionals (21-35 years old).  Grants may be applied towards attendance at SGC.

Ade Abiodun African Space Scholarship Award

Deadline: 17 July, 2011

 

Description:  This award will be selected by members of the Executive Council of SGAC and SGC's Delegate Coordinating Team to award an African delegate that demonstrates outstanding activity in the space sector prior to SGC and motivation to build African regional space capabilities.  The award will support attendance at the African Leadership Conference, SGC, and the IAC.

This competition is open to all African university students and young professionals and is only open to people who apply for SGC 2011.

NASRDA/ARCSSTE-E/SGAC Scholarships (2)

Deadline: 29 July, 2011

 

Description:  This award will be selected by a panel of judges with representatives from NASRDA, ARCSSTE-E, and SGAC.  Scholarships will be given to two individuals that demonstrate outstanding activity in the space sector prior to SGC and motivation to build Nigerian regional space capabilities.  The award will support attendance at the African Leadership Conference, SGC, and the IAC.

This competition is open to all Nigerian resident nationals that are university students and young professionals between the ages of 18-35.  Staff of NASRDA are not elligible.  The scholarship is only open to people who apply for SGC 2011.

Satellite Futures Scholarships from Society of Satellite Professionals International (SSPI) (3)

Deadline: 4 August, 2011

 

Description:  Scholarships will be given to three individuals that demonstrate outstanding activity and work in the space sector prior to SGC particularly related to satellites and motivation to develop satellite capabilities as part of their future careers.  The award will support attendance to SGC.

This competition is open to all university students and young professionals between the ages of 18-35. The scholarship is only open to people who apply for SGC 2011.

SGAC Australia Scholarship (3)

Deadline: Closed

 

Description: Scholarships will be given to three individuals that demonstrate outstanding activity and work in the space sector prior to SGC and to those who write the best essay on the future of the space sector in Australia. The award will support attendance to SGC.

This competition is open to all university students and young professionals between the ages of 18-35. The scholarship is only open to people who attended the Aerospace Futures conference in Australia in July 2011.

 


 

OHB-SGAC Scholarship

Deadline: 24 August, 2011

 

Description: Scholarships will be given to three individuals that demonstrate outstanding activity and work in the space sector prior to SGC.  Applicants must also submit an essay that describes an innovative mission to the moon; "innovative" may describe a technical aspect of the mission (such as the propulsion system or scientific purpose) or a non-technical aspect (such as multi-lateral, international partnerships or funding methods) The award will support attendance to SGC.

This competition is open to all university students and young professionals between the ages of 18-35. The scholarship is only open to people who applied for SGC 2011 by the July 15 deadline.
