SGAC membership has been steadily growing throughout the years. Among our membership there are many incredible young space enthusiasts who should be recognised for their hard work and contributions to SGAC. In December 2009, the SGAC Executive Council decided to acknowledge one member per month for his or her outstanding work and contributions to SGAC and its goals.

We are proud to present the May 2011 Member of the Month: Agnieszka Lukaszczyk (Poland/USA)

Agnieszka Lukaszczyk is the former SGAC Chairperson. From 2006 until 2009 she held the Executive Officer position at SGAC. She is also a Space Policy Consultant for Secure World Foundation. A  Polish/American national, Agnieszka is based in Brussels, Belgium working on the European space policy and United Nations (UN) civil space activities covering the UN Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS) and working closely with the UN Office of Outer Space Affairs (OOSA).In addition, during the period of September 2006 to June 2008,Agnieszka worked at the European Space Policy Institute. Agnieszka also serves as the the Vice President - Europe for the World Space Week. She holds a Masters degree from the American University School  of International Service in International Politics and a Bachelor  degree in Political Science form the University of Tennessee. She also studied at the Universite Catholique de Louvain in Brussels, Belgium; the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland and the World Trade Institute in Berne, Switzerland. She gained professional experience at  the Political Section of the Polish Embassy in Washington DC, American  Electronics Association in Brussels, European Department of the Polish  Senate in Warsaw and the Warsaw Business Journal.

I would like to nominate Agnieszka as MoM May to show my appreciation for the wonderful work that she did as an SGAC member and the Chair. Agnieszka was and is still very active in all her endeavors for SGAC. She contributes all her time and energy into lifting SGAC to a more professional and wider organizations reaching out to new members everywhere.

I feel honored to be voted the Member of the Month for May, particularly one month after I finished my term as the SGAC Chair. It really means a lot to be recognized by the members of the organization that had an incredible impact on my life. SGAC has been extremely close to my heart and I cannot imagine not being part of it in some way. Thank you Space Generation and keep rocking that space world!
