SGAC membership has been steadily growing throughout the years. Among our membership there are many incredible young space enthusiasts who should be recognised for their hard work and contributions to SGAC. In December 2009, the SGAC Executive Council decided to acknowledge one member per month for his or her outstanding work and contributions to SGAC and its goals, and we continued this until today.

SGAC is proud to present the SGAC August 2013 Member of the Month: Noemie Bernede (France)

Noemie BernedeNoemie Bernede (France/Germany) has worked as institutional affairs manager since 2011 at Astrium Services in the Earth Observation sector. After receiving a Bachelor's degree in Humanities, she graduated with Master's degrees in Political Sciences (2008) and Management (2010). She is also an alumna from the Community of Ariane Cities' Summer School (2012) and from the International Space University (Space Studies Program 2013). In the space sector, her interests range from industrial policies, organizational and business innovations to space education and interdisciplinary knowledge management. As member of the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC), she is actively taking part in the Commercial Space and the Space Technologies for Disaster Management Project Groups.

Emmanuelle David (France), Project Co-Coordinator nominated Noemie:
“I would like to nominate Noemie Bernede as member of the month. She has been active in different of the project groups bringing her expertise and motivation. She is the author of two papers for two project groups. She is also being very active by promoting the Space Technologies for Disaster Management on Facebook and Twitter (@STDM_SGAC). Noemie does her best to promote SGAC activities and attend our event. She received the young professional scholarship from Secure World Foundation to attend IAC in Bejiing. Having members as Noemie, increase our expertise, reputation and network within the space community. Therefore I would like to nominate Noemie as Member of the Month. ”

Here is Noemie's reaction:
Thank you very much for choosing me as SGAC Member of the Month. I feel honored and I am always glad to contribute to the SGAC as much as I can! I enjoy very much working with SGAC members from different countries, and the SGAC is for me the unique opportunity for students and young professionals in the space community to meet and share their views. I am looking forward to continue working all together to keep this momentum going.
