SGAC and DLR are pleased to announce the winners of the joint DLR Standout Student Scholarship 2016. The scholarship enables two outstanding German students to attend the 15th Space Generation Congress and the 67th International Astronautical Congress in Guadalajara, Mexico.
DLR is Germany’s national research center for aeronautics and space. Its extensive research and development work inaeronautics, space, transportation, energy, and security is integrated into national and international cooperative ventures. As Germany’s space agency, the German federal government has given DLR responsibility for the forward planning and implementation of the German space programme as well as international representation of Germany’s interests.

One of the main missions of SGAC is to facilitate access to the world's major space conferences for young professionals and students. The Space Generation Leadership Award enables five outstanding SGAC members to attend the 15th Space Generation Congress and the 67th International Astronautical Congress in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Every year, this is a hard choice for the SGAC Executive. However, we are glad to report that we received an outstanding number of high quality applications this year.

The Space Generation Advisory Council in support of United Nations Programme on Space Applications (SGAC) and the National SPACE Development Program of the Philippines are pleased to announce the 3rd Asia-Pacific Space Generation Workshop (AP-SGW 2016) to be held in Los Baños, Laguna, Philippines on the 12th-13th of November 2016 in conjunction with the 23rd Asia Pacific Regional Space Agency Forum (APRSAF-23). The AP-SGW 2016 is a two-day regional workshop for university students and young professionals in the Asia-Pacific Region and will be held at the University of the Philippines Los Baños, one of the seven constituent campuses of the nation’s premier university system - the University of the Philippines

SGAC is pleased to announce the winners of the joint SGAC-AEM Mexican Scholarship, which was prepared by SGAC in cooperation with the Mexican Space Agency (Agencia Espacial Mexicana, AEM).
The scholarship will cover the registration fee for the 15th Space Generation Congress (SGC) to be held September 22-25 in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Thanks to our generous partner AEM for their support in making this scholarship possible.

Results for the 2016 African Regional Coordinator Elections

On 20 July 2016 SGAC held an elections for the African Regional Coordinator position. The votes have been cast and it is with great pleasure that we announce Beza Tesfaye Zewdie(Ethiopian) has been re-elected as the Regional Coordinator for Ethiopia.

SGAC is proud to announce the appointment of a new Operations Manager and a Local Events Coordinator as part of our global team of volunteers. PJ Valenzuela (USA) has been appointed as our new Operations Manager, replacing Ali Nasseri (Canada/Iran) who was elected as Co-Chair earlier this year. Bruno Sarli (Brazil), former Regional Coordinator for South America, has been appointed to the new role of SGAC Local Events Coordinator.
