Member of the Month

SGAC membership has been steadily growing throughout the years. Among our membership there are many incredible young space enthusiasts who should be recognized for their hard work and contributions to SGAC. In December 2009, the SGAC Executive Council decided to acknowledge one member per month for his or her outstanding work and contributions to SGAC and its goals, and we continued this until today.

SGAC is proud to present the SGAC January Member of the Month: Chantelle Dubois, Web Coordinator Chantelle Dubois

Chantelle Dubois is a student in the department of computer and electrical engineering at the University of Manitoba. Since 2013, she has participated on the University of Manitoba Space Applications and Technology Society (UMSATS) team as the Director of Business and Outreach. In 2014, the team was awarded the UrtheCast outreach award at the completion of the second Canadian Satellite Design Challenge.

Chantelle first became involved with the SGAC at the 2014 Space Generation Congress in Toronto, Canada. Shortly after, she joined the web team as a Web Editor, then became Web Team Coordinator, and recently completed a term as the SGAC intern.

Steven Ringler

Stephen is passionate about space and linking people and businesses, having worked in the industry as a business developer, precision pointing system engineer and programmatic analyst. Stephen’s experience includes government, commercial, and international space organisations with previous roles at The Aerospace Corporation and current roles with the Space Generation Advisory Council. Stephen is now employed as Oxfordshire Space Cluster Development Manager at the Science Technology and Facilities Council (STFC), helping to further bolster Space activities within the county.

SGAC is proud to present the SGAC November 2015 Member of the Month: Jan Svoboda, SGC 2015 Congress Manager

Jan Svoboda

Jan Svoboda is a Czech electrical engineer, born in Tabor, Czech Republic. He currently lives and works in Darmstadt, Germany. Jan is a system engineer for end-to-end instrument chains on EPS-SG programme at EUMETSAT. Previously, Jan was a systems engineer on Modular X- and Gamma- Ray Sensor (MXGS) of the Atmosphere-Space Interactions Monitor (ASIM) at Technical University of Denmark, Lyngby. His professional experience includes various engineering and business related positions within the space industry as well as within academia. Jan is focused on space related engineering activities, especially systems engineering and project management. Jan is a co-lead of Space Generation Advisory Council Commercial $pace Project Group. He received Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Technical University of Denmark, Lyngby, in August 2011 and Bachelor of Science in Control Systems and Cybernetics from Czech Technical University in Prague, in June 2009. During his bachelor studies he spent one year at Milwaukee School of Engineering as a visiting student.
