The Ninth International Space Conference on Protection of Materials and Structures from the Space Environment ICPMSE-9 will be held at the University of Toronto Institute for Aerospace Studies in Toronto, Canada on May 20 - 23, 2008.
The meeting is sponsored, as usual, by CSA, NASA and a number of organizations. The meeting, as in the past years, will cover a range of cross-disciplinary topics in protection of materials and structures in space, planetary environments and topics related to interplanetary missions and will provide the attendees a forum for the exchange and discussion of information on these topics.
The main mandate of this meeting is to continue the discussions on the effects of the harsh space environment on materials and structures that were started in 1992 at the first meeting in Toronto.
So far over 90 contributions from all over the world including Japan, Canada, China, Russia, USA, Israel, France, Italy, Brazil, Netherlands, etc were received.
