Hi everybody.

Of course we want to get to know each other while working together online and at SGC, thus it would be great if everybody just introduces himself/herself shortly to all the others.

To begin with:
I'm Juergen, 28 years old ... I studied Aerospace Engineering at the Universitaet Stuttgart, Germany, and I am currently working on my PhD on lunar base design. I've also been active in ESA's SSETI initiative working on the SSETI EXPRESS and ESEO microsatellites.

I've been participant of SGC 2006 and I can only encourage you to become part of this network and to become involved in the Space Generation activities, since it is the best place to meet interested and motivated people that care about space exploration.

So much for now, looking forward to meeting all of you soon,

Juergen

Welcome!

Welcome everybody!

I'm Alex, also from Germany and together with Juergen I'm leading the Habitat Design Project. I'm 28, studied Astronautical Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Aachen, Germany and right now I'm in Torino, Italy doing a Master's course in Space Exploration, in particular about a permanent lunar base.

My first SGC experience was in 2005 in Fukuoka, I liked it so much that I became Staff member in 2006 and now for 2007 as well.

We are looking forward to your ideas, since this is the place where you can get active and shape the future!

Alex

Hello everybody, I have just

Hello everybody,

I have just read about the Space Generation Congress and i m online here for one hour. So I haven't apply for the congress yet. Now i m getting imformations about the project teams with reading the messages in the forum. For now i dont know many things about the projects.

I m a third year astronomy student in Turkey. I m interested in astronomy and space explorations since i was five :)

Out of astronomy i m very interested in ecology. And so i m an active volunteer in the Turkish Foundation for Combating Soil Erosion , for Reforestation and the Protection of Natural Habitats.

I really want to be a participant of the SGC and meet people who are interested in space and space exploration.

i hope meeting with you

Hi

I am a Belgian student, first Year student civil engineering with lots of intersts for space exploration.
To be honest I am a bit overwhelmed by all the authoroty and knowledge you guys have about the topic :-$ So I feel very small; but inspite of that I would like to contribute some idea's or opinions, and I want to learn a lot while helping.
I was a glider pilot in the belgian Air force for some years; I play the piano and the saxophone in several orchestra's. Also I have some experience in cooking and camping (and the combination).
For the rest I have a great philosophical interest, maybe that can be of some use.
I look forward to working with you all!
Pieter (sounds as 'Peter' in English)

Hi :)

I'm Lavina, taking up Mechanical Engineering (in my opinion an inadequate substitute for aerospace engineering) in Manila , Philippines. I've also begun a chapter of SEDS here, because of my deep interest in astronomy and aerospace engineering. Like some of you, I'm sorely lacking in technical expertise, but I'm definitely willing to learn and to contribute what I do know. It's nice meeting you all :)

Hello All, I'm Joe Palaia

Hello Everyone,

My name is Joe Palaia. I've attended SGC '05 in Japan and '06 in Spain, and I'm really looking forward to India!

Here's a brief bio:

Joseph Palaia holds a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology and a Masters degree in Nuclear Science & Engineering from MIT.

In September 2005, he co-founded a space startup company, the 4Frontiers Corporation. 4Frontiers is an emerging space commerce company with unique expertise in Mars settlement design and related technologies. The company has access to a broad array of technical and social science specialists that strive for unparalleled realism in modeling the new space frontier. The company’s core technology development focuses on enabling technologies for space exploration, settlement, and insitu resource utilization. Its activities in three business segments (informative entertainment/education, research & development, and consultancy) give it both the capability to develop innovative space systems and technologies, as well as the ability to translate these concepts into a public format which is engaging, entertaining, and informative. Joe serves as Vice President of Operations and R&D for 4Frontiers.

Joe is a co-author of three technical papers. The first paper, the result of a nuclear reactor design course at MIT, is titled, “Mission to Mars: How to Get There and Back with Nuclear Energy.” It was published by the MIT Center for Advanced Nuclear Studies in September 2004. The second paper, the result of an eight month technical feasibility study, is titled, “A Permanent Settlement on Mars: The Architecture of the Mars Homestead Project.” It was published at the 35th International Conference on Environmental Systems in July 2005. The third paper is entitled, “The Emerging Inner Solar System Economy.” It is being published in an upcoming edition of the journal Futures Research Quarterly.

Hello, my name is Erik and I

Hello, my name is Erik and I am uneducated. Accepted into the Aerospace Engineering program at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, but unable to attend due to financial constraints. Highly intelligent, minimally educated man with many skills and ideas. I am very enthusiastic about this project because it has been my dream to contribute to the design of a human living structure on another planet. I am willing to help in any way and I am in awe of the credentials posted by your members. There are very few things that I do not excel at, however I am married with many children and, therefore, do not have a huge surplus of time. Space exploration, however, is of utmost importance to me, and my children. I believe my contribution could involve oral and written communications, as well as thought experiments related to design, human factors psych., p.r, and I truly love analyzing the effects of technology on society. I hope you will allow me to participate in some way.

hi all, i am dhruv from india. i am a biotechnology student at under graduate level. i am very interested in this field of creating habitats on mars or moon. being a bio tech student i am sure i can contribute to this effort of developing these habitat designs in these workshops. since subsequent action after the construction of these habitats on any planet is to terraform that planet, so we can develop ideas for this activity by studying soil ecology of that planet in the sense that what type of flora and fauna can be developed in that soil .

Space chemistry

Hi, My name is Nitto Ronjon Bormon. I am from Bangladesh. I have gained my Master of Science in applied chemistry and Chemical Technology from the University of Dhaka.I don't have much ideas about outer space. But I studied some courses during my Bachelor and Master in Chemistry which explained some chemistry of space and man made problems in the sky.

So whenever I read any news about outer space then I like to get some information about space chemistry.I am working for environment safety awarenes volunteer programme for my country.I am trying to build up knowledge of our industrialist, civil society, school and collegeg level student about environment and how to keep it safe, as space is key part of environment so I like to get detailed planned of space generation' How they will keep safe and no any bad impact on space chemistry beside their activities"

What is our choice " earth or space"

We have one very old proverb which is used for bad example " to kill the mother for getting baby" some time I feel same think when I saw science bringing us in the sky but destroying the earth.

Space generation thinking about explore , explore and explore and making project and design on outer space.I wish success also but we must be carefull about earth as well. Otherwise to explore outer space we will destroy the earth. Thats why I would like to request the space generation they would explore earth and space at a time so that all perticapte can know what they should for eath and space. If they only exited for outer space and forget about earth then we will be loser, is not it?

Nitto
