SPACE EDUCATION COULD BE THE BEST FOR THE EXPANSION OF SGAC NETWORK ACROSS THE WORLD
According to my observation, I came to realize that education is everthing as it is the only thing that can change the attitudes of the people and also can change the reputation of people. For that case if we want to achieve our goals then for the time being we need to focus much on space education, so that more people can become aware and get involved so that all can move on the same truck.
The issue is: Space education, a necessity for the young generation. First, let us define / agree the agenda for such thoughts, as follows -.
a. We should participate in this forum with a time bound agenda and discuss the issues in details. Next, formulate a policy to materialize the concept.
b. Introduce the concept as a space appreciation program [on site, say 10 – 15 duration, practice oriented] from the 10th – 12th grade level among the school children. The program to be conducted in English language
c. Form a committee by us; and, request the same to be headed by an executive member of the SGAC. This committee should formulate the syllabus for the proposed / agreed program.
The prime objective for such a program could be -
1. A "short-term" aerospace engineering [or, exploration] appraisal program, which would give the participants an insight knowledge / training of the entire aerospace engineering [or, exploration] scenario. The venue for such trainings could be on rotary basis among the SGAC member countries that have adequate facilities for such a program.
2. A global [children attending from various countries] program of such nature entitled as: Leadership Training in Aerospace for Peace, would perhaps be a wonderful attempt to make our generation appraise the conceptual need of "space appreciation for peace". An attendance certificate / memento awarded, to the participants, at the end of such a program from a reputed organization like that of SCAG, would also be an added value for the participants’ career.
I now wait to hear favorably from interested members. The program with the cost-economics details could be chalked out once we agree on the concept itself. Every one can contact me vied: shauquat@yahoo.com; or, also call me at: 00966-551887143.
i am really supporting castory for his good ideas that we as members of the space have to think of how best the education about space could be spread not only to the new members of the organisation who have no enough details on the space but also those who are willing to join the space but have any idea of what psace generation is and probably what are the main interests of the organisation. it unrefutable claim that there are majority of the people have no deep understanding of what are the general functionigs and intersts of the space generation.
good idea mister castory.
cheers !
I think this is very true.
And the nice thing is that space education is a hot topic!
And you know what is even better? Youth in general is the
biggest expert when it comes to education as they are the
receiving end of it! The client sort of speak...
We all know from experience that it is quite easy to point
out the bad teacher from the superb teacher. We can also
quite easily assess good educational material from less good.
And this type of feedback is greatly appreciated by (large)
organisations such as space agencies, but many many more.
We listed a bunch of them a long time ago:
http://www.spacegeneration.org/education
Another idea is that we can share with each other what we
have learned ourselves! Undergraduate and certainly graduate
students are required to do some research. Effectively when
a student graduates he or she possesess top notch knowledge!
Why dont we make an effort to explain what we know to one
another? PowerPoint has some advanced features that we can
make use of. Or websharing tools. Or Facebook applications...
Etc etc etc.
Now what keeps us from doing this?
It always takes a person who has time with leadership skills
to make progress on these sort of projects.....
Who dares?

I really go against with Castory to start introducing space education while we have astronomy education. The idea here is to emphasize the astronomy education from the grassroot. That is from kindergatten to highest level of education, also should comply with those people who have not gone to school.
The syllabus should highlight first from the place where majority people live to see their effects and go beyond to those few people with high education to investigate the reality and correctiness of things concerns with space. Astronomy education should be the first thing then we proceed with space education
