Bio
I'm currently working on a telescope at the South Pole to study the origin of the universe as my PhD project in physics at UC Berkeley. I was born in the US, but grew up in Japan. Became interested in going to outer space at age 12, and came to the US for high school. I was active as the president of Caltech SEDS, but only found out about Space Generation when I went to the UK for a year to do my master's research on Moon-based observatory concepts. I have become inspired by the Moon because it's visible to everyone and at the same time reachable within many people's lives. I have helped to activate the Lunar Explorers Society to bring together people interested in exploring the Moon. After finishing my PhD research around 2008, I'd like to design, develop, and implement spacecraft and spacesuits to enable more affordable private exploration of the outer space, including the lunar orbit.
