SGAC is seeking ambitious and highly motivated volunteers to join the newly formed Asia-Pacific Regional Team as Regional Executives.

Responsibilities

The Regional Executive Secretary tasks include:

  • Administration/moderation of SGAC Asia-Pacific NPoCs mailing lists
  • Maintenance of the SGAC Regional NPoC database
  • Create collaboration certificates to acknowledge the work of NPoCs
  • Preparations for Regional Quarterly Meetings with NPoCs (preparation of agenda, change request documents, …)
  • Documenting regional meetings (taking minutes)
  • Responding to email requests by NPoCs
  • Keep track of work plans and end-of-year review
  • Manage specific software tools used in the region (e.g. Trello)
  • Assisting the Regional Coordinators with miscellaneous operational needs
    The Regional Executive Secretary is part of the Asia-Pacific Regional Team and works under the supervision of the Regional Coordinators.

Estimated time commitment: Estimated at an average 4 hours a week.

Duration of the term: 2 years renewable for another 2 years depending on performance.

Note: This is an unpaid volunteer position.

Necessary Qualifications

  • SGAC membership: registration on the SGAC website and below 34 years of age at the time of recruitment
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, quick turnaround international environment and meet deadlines without compromising the quality of work
  • Strong or competent working knowledge of computer applications and management apps (Google Apps, Microsoft Office Suite, GIMP/Photoshop)
  • Excellent written English
  • Speedy email response time

The Regional Partnerships Manager will work closely with the current Strategic Partnerships team (SPT), and report to the Regional Coordinators.

Activities include the following:

  • Look for regional sponsors, new partners, fundraising efforts
  • Find partners to fund more scholarships for SGAC members in the region
  • Coordinate with SPT for global initiatives relevant to the region

This is a volunteer position.
