Following the success of the Space Generation Congress (SGC) 2021 held in Dubai, UAE, preparations for SGC 2022 in the city of Paris, France are underway! The Space Generation Congress (SGC) 2022 will be held from 14 – 16 September 2022 and to enable another successful SGC, SGAC is seeking qualified volunteers to join the SGC 2022 Organising Team.

About the 20th Space Generation Congress (SGC)
The 20th SGC will take place in Paris, France, on 14 – 16 September 2022, in conjunction with the 73rd International Astronautical Congress (IAC).
The Space Generation Congress (SGC) is SGAC’s annual meeting in support of the United Nations (UN) Programme on Space Applications held in Paris prior to the 73rd International Astronautical Congress (IAC).
Top university students and young professionals from all around the globe with a passion for space will attend this dynamic, 3-day long event. The 150 delegates will participate in an inspiring and resourceful engagement with their peers at the congress,

Open Positions
Logistics Team (5-7 Positions)
This role determines what goes where, and how for the SGC. There is a great deal of behind-the-scenes coordination that happens to ensure a successful SGC and SGAC involvement in IAC and these people will make that happen.
Successful applicants in this position are detail-oriented, flexible, and excited by puzzles.
Responsibilities:
Manage the logistics for the SGC 2022 and the SGAC’s presence at IAC. Including:
- Ensuring all equipment and supplies arrive on site, on time
- Selecting venues that can host SGC and/or IAC-related events
- Negotiation and coordination with caterers (for SGC and IAC-related events)
- Determining and communicating transportation details
- Identification of local partners
Estimated time commitment: 12 hours per day during the event, 2 hours per week prior to event
Period of Performance: 17 March 2022 to 22 September 2022
Requirements:
- SGAC Membership (free registration on the SGAC website required, and aged 18-35 years old during the period of performance)
- Mandatory attendance at SGC/IAC 2022
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- French language knowledge is preferred
- Prior experience as delegate or team in an SGAC Event is preferred
- Physical location in Paris is considered an asset
Delegates Team (3-5 Positions)
This role works with the SGC delegates throughout all the stages of SGC 2022, including: application, scholarships, delegate registration, delegate coordination and delegate feedback prior, during, and after SGC 2022. In addition, the role requires a quick response rate and high level of time commitment to ensure that delegates are kept up-to-date prior to the SGC, and to aid coordination of the delegate ticketing system.
Successful applicants in this position love communicating with people, are good mediators, and enjoy collaborating with others.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinating all contact and registration of SGC 2022 delegates
- Acting as focal point of contact for delegate requests
- Creation of “Delegate Handbook” detailing helpful information for delegates
- Communicate the daily agenda and announcements to the delegates on-site
- Support the coordination of all the SGC 2022 scholarships, including travel, logistics, and management to ensure a positive experience for scholarship winners to SGC
- Work together with the SGAC Scholarships Coordinators and coordinate the scholarship winners meet and greet with partners
Estimated time commitment: 8 hours per day during the event, 5 hours per week prior to the event.
Period of Performance: 17 March 2022 to 22 September 2022
Requirements:
- SGAC Membership (free registration on the SGAC website required, and aged 18-35 years old during the period of performance)
- Fluent in written and spoken English, good grammar and writing skills
- Ability to provide world-class customer service to delegates and rapidly solve issues
- Interest in working with international cultures and diverse backgrounds
- Mandatory attendance at SGC/IAC 2022
- Prior experience as delegate or team in an SGAC Event is preferred
Programming Team (3-5 Positions)
This role is responsible for developing the content of SGC and the SGAC-related IAC programming. This includes working with SGAC partners to create the Working Group content, the SGC schedule, Global Networking Forum speakers and content, as well as evening event content.
Successful applicants in this position are high level thinkers, in-tune with current events in the industry, and have an arsenal of space jokes at their disposal in case of technical difficulties.
Responsibilities:
- Working in consultation with the SGC Managers and the Working Group sponsors on developing the Working Group topics and focus
- Train Working Group moderators prior to SGC
- Support the sponsors in preparation of prerequisite reading materials for the Working Group sessions
- Creation of SGC program schedule
- Master moderating of SGC and SGAC-related IAC programming
Estimated time commitment: 8 hours per day during the event, 3 hours per week prior to the event.
Period of Performance: 17 March 2022 to 22 September 2022
Requirements:
- SGAC Membership (free registration on the SGAC website required, and aged 18-35 years old during the period of performance)
- Fluent in written and spoken English, good grammar and writing skills
- Excellent public speaking skills
- Ability to liaise effectively with senior members of the space sector
- Interest in developing relevant discussion topics and selecting speakers
- Mandatory attendance at SGC/IAC 2022
- Prior experience as delegate or team in an SGAC Event is preferred
Publications, Communications, and Media Team (3-5 Positions)
This role requires the development and management of SGC graphics, public relations, and advertising material, both internationally and in Paris. This role also covers the publication of SGC-related reports, documents, and articles. The team will focus on public relations prior, during, and after the event including social media campaigns, photography, and interviews.
Successful applicants in this position have an eye for style, know how to get the word out, and masterfully wield the rocket and satellite emojis.
Responsibilities:
- Media relations and advertising before, during, and after the SGC
- Design and creation of multimedia content such as graphics and videos
- Development of media/press kit
- Coordination with the SGAC PR Communication team to ensure the social media campaigns for SGC and the IAC-related activities are successful
- Developing brochures for promotional and organisational materials
- Writing of press releases
- Liaising with IAC and other organisations on promotion
- On-site photography and videography
- On-site interviews with SGAC delegates and partners
- Coordinate with the team to make sure all documents are in agreement with organisation level language requirements
- Lead the editing process for SGC 2022 Final Report, consisting of a summary of the recommendation from the SGC Working Group discussions
Estimated time commitment: 8 hours per day during the event, 2 hours per week prior to event.

- Experience in photo/videography, video-editing and graphic design
- Experience with publications is an asset
- Experiences in writing articles and publications
- Mandatory attendance at SGC/IAC 2022
- Prior experience as delegate or team in an SGAC Event is preferred
