SGAC is proud to announce the selection of Clementine Decoopman (France) as the SGAC Deputy Executive Director, following the vacancy notice published in January. She will join the SGAC Vienna office in June, working closely with our current Executive Director to lead SGAC activities.
Clémentine Decoopman was born in Lille in the North of France. She holds a Master’s Degree in International Business from Kedge Business School in France as well as a Bachelor of Marketing from San Diego State University in the United States. She is passionate about event organisation and branding. Clémentine is an outgoing, creative and positive person who loves working in a multicultural environment.
In addition to her academic pursuits, Clémentine has recently completed a six-month internship for Arianespace’s Washington DC office where she was in charge of marketing, trade shows, corporate communications and government affairs projects. Clémentine especially helped organise activities, events and exhibits at the Satellite 2016 trade show and the 32nd Space Symposium. She was a participant of SGx 2016 and the Fusion Forum 2016.
Prior to Arianespace, she also completed a six-month internship for Airbus Helicopters in Marignane in France where she worked on marketing, communication, public relations, event and social media communication projects. While there, she was responsible for the development of an integration program for newcomers at Airbus Helicopters including four events each month as well as an interactive online platform.
From the SGAC Executive Office
SGAC Chair, Ali Nasseri, had this to share about Clementine's selection:
"First, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Deputy Executive Director selection committee comprised of members of our executive team and advisers. They had the task of reviewing all application, interviewing the applicants, sharing their insights, and helping select a candidate that could best help SGAC in achieving its mission: To be the voice of the next generation of space sector leaders, and help them with their personal and professional development.
This selection was by no means simple. We received 19 high caliber applications, and after a long series of discussions were able to select 4 applicants for primary and secondary interviews. Clementine showed great critical thinking skills during her interviews, pitching several new ideas which were not thought out by our team. Her attitude towards problem solving was just one of the many attributes that made her stand out as our successful applicant.
I am happy to welcome Clementine to the Executive Office, and look forward to working with her in the coming months on introducing new initiatives to SGAC, and bringing a new outlook to our Executive team."
SGAC Executive Director, Minoo Rathnasabapathy, added:
"I look forward to working with Clementine as she takes on the role of Deputy Executive Director in June, allowing adequate time to pass on my knowledge and experiences at SGAC. SGAC is at a pinnacle point in its organisational-evolution. Having increased our network, number of events/output, professionalism and reputation, I believe Clementine will make a great addition to the team, bringing new ideas to further grow the organisation."
