SUMMARY:SGAC_Decode 2022
DESCRIPTION:The NPoC from Nicaragua and the NPoCs of the Caribbean (Saint Lucia\, Trinidad & Tobago\, Jamaica\, and Barbados) are organizing the first collaborative 8 weeks competition on CubeSat Mission Design\, SGAC_Decode. The first of its kind competition that will not only be a competition but an opportunity of professional growth as well as learning.  \nSGAC_Decode is a CubeSat Mission design competition for Nicaraguan and Caribbean students and young professionals. This 8 weeks competition is a collaboration between the SGAC National Point of Contacts from Nicaragua\, Saint Lucia\, Trinidad and Tobago\, Jamaica\, and Barbados: Through this competition the Decode team expect to create capacity building for the youth in these countries as there are not many opportunities to work on space projects. \nThe winning team will have the opportunity to be mentored by experts in the field\, continue improving their mission and the support to submit their mission design in other competitions such as the KibuCube to have the opportunity to deploy from the ISS Kibo\, their CubeSats which they would develop and manufacture. \nCheck the SGAC_Decode 2022 webpage

SUMMARY:Our Giant Leap Hackathon
DESCRIPTION:The SGAC Diversity and Gender Equality Project Group\, formerly known as the Our Giant Leap initiative\, is organizing its very first hackathon in 2022 under the general theme : “How can space technology and know-how help make a leap forward towards gender equality on Earth?“. \nSince its first kick-off event (SG[France]2020: Our Giant Leap) in September 2020\, Our Giant Leap has supported many SGAC events. It is now time for the initiative\, which became officially a SGAC Project Group in August 2021\, to organize its next event. \nThe Our Giant Leap Hackathon 2022 will be held in Daejeon\, South Korea on August 14th and 15th 2022. 10 teams of up to 5 hackers will work on the next best idea for gender equality on Earth using space technology and know-how. \nAt the end of the Hackathon\, the best team selected by our diverse jury for its originality and efforts will be offered a great prize and be given the chance to receive professional support for the development of their idea. \nCheck the Our Giant Leap Hackathon webpage
