SUMMARY:SG[France] 2022 : Road to Newspace
DESCRIPTION:G \nranted that you’re as passionate about space as we are here as SGAC\, you probably know about the best part of the amazing achievements of space exploration. Gagarin’s first flight\, the Apollo missions\, the ISS or the JWST are all iconic landmarks of the fascinating conquest for outer space that were made possible by the famous\, inspiring and more than often state-owned historic actors that we all know. \nHowever\, the space industry is evolving and that’s happening fast. New actors from the private sector are taking a position in what is now customary called “NewSpace”. Blue Origin\, SpaceX and OneWeb promptly come to mind in this dynamic ecosystem\, but there is also a whole lot of smaller businesses swiftly flourishing in Europe around rocket manufacturing\, constellations and satellite design\, and various other space-based services. \nAt the French chapter of SGAC\, we are convinced that startups and SMEs have a key role in shaping the future of space exploration and exploitation. We hence decided to organize this year’s French Space Generation event around the following discussion: \n\nWhat is the role of business in the future of the space sector and how can we foster space-related entrepreneurship ? \n\n\nS\nG[France] 2022 will take place in Strasbourg in the end of Spring 2022\, if you are a student or young professional aged 18-35\, do not miss this opportunity to meet and chat with renowned experts of the French and European space industry as well as with numerous young space enthusiasts ! \n\nCheck out the event website nowREGISTER NOW !

SUMMARY:Our Giant Leap: Meet the women behind SGAC - Europe
DESCRIPTION:To commemorate Women’s History Month as well as Diversity Month\, the Diversity and Gender Equality Project Group from the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC) has come up with a series of webinars to showcase women of SGAC. For each webinar\, 2 women from each one of the SGAC regions will speak about their background and professional experience\, including their role within SGAC. \nJoin us during your lunch or coffee break and enjoy a nice 45 minutes of discussion with the panelists. You will be able to engage with them in the chat and ask your questions.  \nThis episode will feature women from the European region. \n  \nThe Speakers : \nAlina Vizireanu \nAlina Vizireanu is a Geospatial and Earth Observation professional with a drive toward Human Development in the Space sector. With over 15 years of experience\, Alina founded AVINTERRA Consulting\, where the team is focused on making a change in the monitoring of climate resilience programs and addressing the societal impact of biodiversity loss. In addition\, Alina volunteers her spare time for organisations that aim to make a difference in NextGen’s development\, creating programs and collaborating with organisations at a global level. SGAC Alumna\, a member of the IAF Space Education and Outreach Committee and Women+ in Geospatial\, she is a mentor and advisor for young people and startups through her coaching business\, Starseeds. \nAlexandra Jercaianu \nAlexandra is currently working as a Project Manager for Euroconsult – a consulting company fully dedicated to space and satellite vertical markets – where she works on several program development tracks for Euroconsult’s flagship event\, the World Satellite Business Week (WSBW) whilst also contributing to space policy and programs consulting missions for global governmental and industry clients. Before Euroconsult\, Alexandra worked as a Project Manager for Eurisy\, where she focused on building bridges between space and non-space sector markets to strengthen the diffusion of satellite-derived innovation\, technology\, and data.   \n  \nPrior to switching to the space sector\, she admits having never considered a professional path within this sector\, nor the venues open to non-STEM academic profiles. She argues that encountering the enthusiastic and diverse global community of volunteers at SGAC has played a significant role in her decision to continue in space and motivates her to give back her skills to empower others to bring about positive change in the sector. \n  \nAlexandra holds degrees in International Security and Conflict Studies from the Paris School of International Affairs (SciencesPo) and Romania’s National School of Political Studies & Public Administration and is a recipient of the International Astronautical Federation’s 2019 Emerging Space Leaders Award. \n \n \nPatricia Mounayer \nPatricia Mounayer is a lawyer admitted to the Beirut Bar\, currently living in Paris. SUMMARY:Introducción al On-Board Software de satélites

SUMMARY:SG[Spain] 2022
DESCRIPTION:Since the first fully Spanish satellite\, MiniSat\, was launched in 1997\, the space sector in Spain has advanced immensely. From key organizations and enterprises to a growing number of startups\, the Spanish position in the global space ecosystem is more relevant than ever. Recent developments such as the creation of the Spanish Space Agency and the increase in contribution to the budget of the European Space Agency are indicators of the recognition of the importance of space technology and activities by Spanish authorities. \nIn this context\, having a young generation that takes these advancements further in the future is crucial for the long term development of Spanish presence as a key player in space. \nAfter the successful inauguration of SG[Spain] in 2019\, the second instance of this event is taking place this summer in Madrid on June 24th and 25th\, intended for university students\, young professionals (aged 18-35 years) and guest speakers from the space industry\, space agencies\, space non-governmental organizations and research laboratories. The purpose of the event is to gather together people who are passionate about space coming from different backgrounds to enhance interdisciplinary professional networks and exchange of ideas regarding the future of the space field. \nThe overarching theme of SG[Spain] 2022 is the following: \nSpanish space sector: new actors\, organisations and opportunities
