SUMMARY:4th Italian Space Startup Competition
DESCRIPTION:4th Italian Space Startup Competition\n\n\n12th – 13th November 2022\n\n\nNaples\, Italy\n\n\nThe Italian Space Startup Competition (ISSC) is a startup competition whose area of interest is space in all its facets. During the two days of the event\, participants will have the opportunity to interact with experts from the space field and to work in teams\, discussing ideas and shaping them into business cases. The participants will benefit from the support of mentors\, whose backgrounds and expertise are diverse and covering different areas of the space sector. \n\n\n\n\n\nCompetition Goals\n\n\nISSC aims at promoting the interest of the young generation in space business and bringing forth the next generation of entrepreneurs. ISSC encourages knowledge sharing and fosters innovation\, also aiming at providing participants with the necessary backdrop to network\, learn and shape the future. \nThe event is dedicated – but not limited – to new-graduates\, students and young professionals who are interested in working in the space sector and are willing to take on a challenge in a business context. The interdisciplinary of the event allows people from any background\, be it engineering\, law\, economics or else\, to participate. An ad-hoc session will allow participants to get to know each other and form diversified teams to aim to the top. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe event format\n\n\nThe first day will be dedicated to creating teams and introducing the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and tools to shape an idea into business (e.g. pitch canvas or brainstorming). The second day will focus on the development of the business idea. At the conclusion of the ISSC\, each team presents its idea in front of a jury during a pitch competition. SUMMARY:Space4Diversity: Promoting Diversity in the Asia-Pacific Space Sector
DESCRIPTION:Gender equality and diversity are becoming very important issues in the space sector. In the Asia-Pacific region\, we can see a significant gap in this area. This is becoming heavily important\, particularly in promoting more women’s participation in the space sector in the region. \nThe main objective of this event is to raise awareness of gender diversity in the space sector and empower more women participating and staying in the sector. This event aims to be a platform for knowledge and experience sharing of students\, young professionals\, and space leaders in Asia-Pacific especially of women\, from women entrepreneurs in the industry to scientists. We aim to discuss common challenges and barriers to participation of girls and women in space. Additionally\, this event aims to support young women through a short mentoring session. Lastly\, this event is open to students\, young professionals\, and professionals in the space sector. \nThis event is co-organized by the Work-Life Support and Diversity Office of JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency). JAXA is designated as a core implementing organization that technically supports aerospace development and utilization for the Japanese Government.
