SGAC is seeking ambitious and highly motivated volunteers to join the North America, Central America, and the Caribbean (NCAC)  Regional Team as Regional Executives.

Role Description

The Regional Partnerships Manager will work closely with the current Strategic Partnerships team (SPT), and report to the Regional Coordinators.

Responsibilities

  • Look for regional sponsors, new partners, fundraising efforts
  • Find partners to fund more scholarships for SGAC members in the region
  • Coordinate with SPT for global initiatives relevant to the region
  • Develop and maintain the regional Sponsorships Relationship Management (SRM) tool

This is a volunteer position.

Approximate Time Commitment: Estimated at 2-4 hours a week.

Duration of Term: Two Years

Role Requirements

  • SGAC membership: registration on the SGAC website and below 34 years of age at the time of recruitment
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, quick turnaround international environment and meet deadlines without compromising the quality of work
  • Strong or competent working knowledge of computer applications and management apps (Google Apps, Microsoft Office Suite, GIMP/Photoshop)
  • Excellent written English
  • Speedy email response time

Role Description

The Regional Communication Manager is part of the NCAC Regional Team and works under the supervision and in close collaboration with the Regional Coordinators. 

Responsibilities

The Regional Communication Manager  tasks include:

  • Build targeted social media campaigns for regional events on the relevant Facebook page
  • Spearhead content creation for the regional newsletter (responsible for soliciting materials to be published, setting and enforcing deadlines, approving final publications, coordinating frequency of publication, maintaining the SGAC brand during public communications)
  • Support RCs in disseminating Regional and Local Newsletters through Mailchimp
  • Contribute to the creation, and ensure implementation, of the regional PR and Communications Strategy for the organisation
  • Hold coordination meetings with the global PR Team
  • Support National Contact Points with online community management and audience acquisition 

This is an appointed volunteer position. The appointment will be for 2 years with the possibility of renewal for an additional 2 consecutive years.

Role Description

The Regional Executive Secretary is part of the NCAC Regional Team and works under the supervision and in close collaboration with the Regional Coordinators.

Responsibilities

The Regional Executive Secretary tasks include:

  • Administration/moderation of SGAC Regional NPoCs mailing lists
  • Maintenance of the SGAC Regional NPoC database
  • Manages and support SGAC country website pages updates on a quarterly basis (in collaboration with the global Web Team)
  • Create collaboration certificates to acknowledge the work of NPoCs
  • Preparations for Regional Quarterly Meetings with NPoCs (preparation of agenda, change request documents, …)
  • Documenting regional meetings (taking notes and preparing the minutes of meeting when necessary)
  • Responding to email requests by NPoCs
  • Keep track of annual work plans and end-of-year reviews
  • Assisting the Regional Coordinators with miscellaneous operational needs
