SGAC is looking for creative, motivated, and self-driven individuals to join the Public Relations (PR) and Communications Team. These new team members will help execute the SGAC’s vision with excellence and professionalism in a global context. This position offers challenging, rewarding and professional skill-building experience, and is a great opportunity to work on products with high visibility across the SGAC network, partners and supporters. The new team members will work under the direction of the current PR & Communications Leads, Anne Nethmini and Tsion Bonger.

Responsibilities
The PR & Communications team members will work under the guidance of the SGAC PR and Communications Leads and focus on:
- SGAC Communication Strategy
- Keep the strategy up-to-date
- Maintenance of the related documents
- Overseeing that it is respected and followed by the overall organisation
- SGAC Social Media and Outreach
- Create, edit and promote news, events, opportunities pertinent to SGAC activities
- Ensure brand consistency, high-quality posts and tailored language for each platform (SGAC website, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram)
- Execution of communications strategy across social media platforms with the common tone, professionalism and story-telling capability
- Work with SGAC Graphic Designers to ensure professional quality visuals
Assist with collection of social media analytics across platforms (such as reach, engagement, followers, etc.) - Community Management
- Manage and facilitate the SGAC online community and global network by responding to inquiries and developing discussions
- Plan outreach content and delivery
- Implement outreach initiatives, competitions and campaigns that promote the organisation and brand to a global network
- Share the SGAC activities with various partner organisations of SGAC
- Take care of the SGAC Newsletter and press releases
- Form collaborations with influencers across the SGAC social media platforms
- Maintain the SGAC Mailchimp account
- SGAC Brand Identity
- Create or update the SGAC Brand Identity and templates
- Maintenance of the related documents
- Overseeing the SGAC visuals and overall material to make sure it is complaint with the SGAC guidelines
- Public Relations and General Duties
- Answering emails in a timely fashion from Event Managers and SGAC PR and Communications Leads
- Address concerns and participate in active discussions concerning the development and improvement of SGAC public relations activities
- Maintain the SGAC YouTube channel
- Maintain the SGAC Slack workspace
- Assist with design and development of other SGAC related material, as appropriate
Qualifications
- SGAC membership: registration on the SGAC website and being 18-35 years of age for the duration of the appointment
- Flexible and proactive for creative and diversified posting
- Ability to communicate and coordinate in an international team as this position requires working remotely with every region in the world
- Past experience with SGAC team is a plus
- Previous experience with social media and outreach campaigns (including use of Hootsuite) is a plus
- Creativity and comfort for proposing new and innovative ideas to strengthen SGAC’s PR & Communications activities
- Excellent English skills, good computer skills, and speedy email response time
- Some skills in the use of editing and/or graphic design and video software are preferable.
