The Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC) has grown tremendously in the past few years, from increased international, regional and local events to new project groups. This growth is supported by the intensive work of the Strategic Partnerships Team (SPT), which is currently looking for new team members. Role Description

The Strategic Partnerships team is looking to expand. As a versatile team within the SGAC community, we’re looking for individuals who are interested in hitting the ground running and making an impact both on a team and individually. We are looking for team members who can advise or lead one (or more) of the following specific projects:

  • STEM initiatives – Develop STEM partnerships and initiatives within SGAC
  • Project Groups partnerships – Establish methods to engage sponsors with Project Groups, identifying Project groups needs and how to take partnerships forward.
  • Career Network – Maintain and develop SGAC employment opportunities program
  • Funding Programmes – Identify potential funding programmes (e.i.: H2020 European Commission Funding Programme etc.)
  • New Partner Development– Prospect new contacts and new organizations for SGAC to partner with on current and future events and initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Take the lead on one (or more) of the projects as detailed above
  • Work closely with the Executive Office to take the lead in developing and maintaining the overall SGAC fundraising and partnerships strategy
  • Ensure the organisation’s funds are stable and sustainable by maintaining existing and developing new partnerships
  • Attend the monthly Executive Council Meetings, organize Strategic Partnership Team meetings, and any other meetings as required
  • Support with SPT office hours (held bi-weekly)

The SPT Coordinator will work closely with the Coordinators of the team, Harriet Brettle and Mitchell Scher, as well as the SGAC Executive Director and Chairs. This is a volunteer position.

Approximate Time Commitment: Estimated at 3 hours a week.

Duration of Term: 2 years

Role Requirements

  • Show strong proactivity, interest and passion for both the space industry and specifically developing the SGAC community and providing opportunities for students and young professionals
  • Strong communication skills, and the ability to respond quickly to and follow up on emails
  • SGAC membership: registration on the SGAC website and below 33.5 years of age
  • Experience with project management and task scheduling
  • Awareness of international cultural cooperation principles, concepts and techniques
  • Be a team player and ability to work in a international team setting
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Familiarity with the SGAC mission and its objectives
  • Strong working knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and web-editing skills
  • Professional Fluency (Speaking, Reading, and Writing) in English
  • Experience with fundraising for non-profit organisations is desirable
  • Understanding of the global space sector landscape is preferred
  • Must be able to declare any conflicts of interest should a situation arise
