While the mandate of SGAC is to focus on students and young professionals aged 18-35, a big part of the SGAC network includes our fantastic alumni community and SGAC is now looking for two additional Alumni Team members!

Role Description
The SGAC Alumni Programme was launched at the Space Generation Forum 2.0 in 2018 (after a series of successful alumni activities from 2015-2018) to connect SGAC Alumni, and use the potential of the SGAC alumni network in support of other SGAC activities.
SGAC is looking for two active and motivated volunteers to join the SGAC Alumni Team: one to support on the social media subteam, and another to support the finance & fundraising subteam.
SGAC Alumni are:
- Past SGAC members who are over the age limit of SGAC (past their 36th birthday).
- Current, past, and future SGAC Advisory Board, Honorary Board members.
Responsibilities
Social Media Subteam Member
- Work as part of the Alumni team, supported by the alumni co-leads
- Ensure regular communications with the SGAC Alumni, sharing updates about the organisation and its achievements as well as relevant opportunities for engagement with the SGAC Network (i.e. Mentoring Programme, engagement at SGAC events, support to the SGAC Project Groups, communication campaign, etc.).
- Manage the SGAC Alumni Mailing List on MailChimp.
- Work with the Alumni event team to create visuals and pictures for upcoming events, and help with social media promotion.
- Working with the SGAC PR&Comms and the Alumni team to develop campaigns, including social media postings, creation of visuals and communication with SGAC Alumni to engage with SGAC Alumni and publish events, updates, and information like SGAC Alumni Award winners.
- Work with the Alumni team to create an Alumni newsletter with updates from the program.
- Work with the Alumni team to oversee and lead changes on the SGAC Alumni website.
Finance and Fundraising Subteam Member
- Work as part of the Alumni team, supported by the alumni co-leads
- Maintaining the donation tracking system for SGAC Alumni donation
- Prepare communications with SGAC alumni donors
- Implement the SGAC alumni donation strategy, including the alumni fund, endowment fund, and scholarship sponsorship
- Working with the SGAC Scholarships team and the SGAC leadership to develop clear guidance for alumni donation processes
- Work closely with the SGAC Treasurer to establish annual strategies to ensure the growth of the SGAC Alumni Fund.
This is a volunteer position. The position has a two-year term.
Approximate Time Commitment: Estimated at 3 to 5 hours a week.
Role Requirements
- SGAC membership: registration on the SGAC website, citizenship of a United Nations Member State and below 33 years of age at the start of the term.
- Demonstrate leadership and teamwork experience.
- Must be well organized and a self-starter.
- Ability to engage and motivate people.
- Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable.
- Knowledge of SGAC History and established relationships with the SGAC alumni is a plus
- Knowledge of MailChimp is a plus.
- Knowledge of how to create visuals, e.g. with canva, and the SGAC style guide is a plus.
- Working fluency (oral and written) in English.
- Responsive and quick email turnaround time.
