As the number of scholarship opportunities within the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC) is constantly increasing, the organisation is seeking two ambitious, and highly motivated volunteers to join the Scholarships Team as the SGAC Scholarships Team Co-Leads to replace the current two co-leads, Maria Grulich and Michael Kretzenbacher.

Responsibilities

The SGAC Scholarships Team Lead is an integral part of the organisation.

Role Description:

  • Reporting to the SGAC Operations Manager and working with the SGAC Teams and Event Organising Teams to provide opportunities to young space leaders to receive scholarships and grants to attend global space conference
  • Communicating with sponsors and partners for scholarships and grants related activities (budget definition, partner’s or sponsor’s involvement in the scholarship process, etc.)
  • Drafting of new scholarships and their rules, including reimbursement policy
  • Coordinating with the Scholarship Team members to ensure that all scholarships stay within their schedule and budget
  • Supporting the SGAC finance team with the scholarship reimbursement platform
  • Sharing the scholarship report/testimonial with the sponsors and partners
  • Seek for new scholarships/grants opportunities for SGAC events and/or space conference worldwide

Estimated time commitment: 3 – 4 hours per week

Necessary Qualifications

  • SGAC membership: registration on the SGAC website and below 34 years of age
  • Ability to respond quickly and efficiently to emails
  • Good understanding of SGAC Scholarships’ processes is a plus
  • Experience with project management and task scheduling
  • Be a team player and ability to work in an international team setting
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Familiarity with the SGAC mission and its objectives
  • Strong working knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Professional Fluency (Speaking, Reading, and Writing) in English
  • Demonstrate leadership and teamwork experience
  • Professional fluency (speaking, reading, and writing) in English
  • Have the necessary time to monitor the different Scholarships and maintain regular communication with the SGAC leadership
  • High degree of self-organisation
  • Cross Cultural and Communication Awareness: Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with people from various international and cultural backgrounds
  • Customer service mentality
  • Understanding of the global space sector landscape is preferred
