SGAC is looking for a motivated, self-driven Social Media Manager who executes vision with excellence and professionalism in a global context. Responsibilities

The Social Media Manager will work under the guidance of the SGAC PR and Communications Coordinators and focus on:

  • SGAC Social Media Channels
    • Coordinate with the SGAC PR and Communication Coordinators to edit and promote news, events, opportunities pertinent to SGAC activities
    • Ensure brand consistency, high quality posts and tailored language for each platform (SGAC website, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram)
    • Execution of communications strategy across social media platforms with common tone, professionalism and story-telling capability
    • Work with SGAC Graphic Designers to ensure professional quality visuals
    • Assist with collection of social media analytics across platforms (such as reach, engagement, followers, etc.)
  • Community Management
    • Manage and facilitate social media communities by responding to social media posts and developing discussions
    • Plan content and delivery using tools like Hootsuite to manage multiple social media channels
    • Implement competitions and campaigns that promote the organisation and brand
    • Share the SGAC activities with various partner organisations of SGAC
    • Form collaborations with influencers across the social media platforms
  • General duties
    • Answering emails in a timely fashion from Event Managers and SGAC PR and Communications Coordinators
    • Assist with design and development of other SGAC related material, as appropriate

Qualifications

  • SGAC membership: registration on the SGAC website and below 34 years of age at the time of appointment
  • Driven and motivated for excellence to illustrate the best of SGAC to a global professional audience in written format
  • Flexible and proactive for creative and diversified posting
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate in an international team as this position requires working remotely with every region in the world
  • Past experience with SGAC team is a plus
  • Previous experience with social media campaigns and Hootsuite is a plus
  • Excellent English skills, good computer skills, and speedy email response time
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications or similar/related software
  • Some skills in the use of editing and/or graphic design software are preferable. These may include one or more of, but are not limited to Adobe Creative Suite or similar
