SGAC is looking for creative, motivated, and self-driven individuals to join as the Slack Team Member. This new team member will help execute the SGAC’s vision with excellence and professionalism in a global context. This position offers challenging, rewarding and professional skill-building experience, and is a great opportunity to work on products with high visibility across the SGAC network, partners and supporters. The PR & Communications team members will work under the guidance of the SGAC Operations Manager and with the PR & Comms team and focus on:

  • SGAC Social Media and Outreach
    • Coordinate with the SGAC PR and Communication team to promote news, events, opportunities pertinent to SGAC activities within the SGAC Slack community
    • Ensure brand consistency, high-quality posts and tailored language for slack is maintained
    • Execution of communications strategy with the common tone, professionalism and story-telling capability
    • Work with SGAC Graphic Designer and the PR & Comms team to ensure professional quality visuals
    • Assist with collection of analytics across platforms (such as reach, engagement, followers, etc.)
  • Community Management
    • Manage and facilitate the SGAC online community and global network by responding to inquiries and developing discussions
    • Plan outreach content and delivery
    • Implement outreach initiatives, competitions and campaigns that promote the organisation and brand to a global network
  • Public Relations and General Duties
    • Answering emails in a timely fashion
    • Address concerns and participate in active discussions concerning the development and improvement of SGAC slack activities
    • Possible contribution to SGAC graphic design and video editing activities pertaining to slack updates


  • SGAC membership: registration on the SGAC website and being 18-35 years of age for the duration of the appointment 
  • Flexible and proactive for creative and diversified posting
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate in an international team as this position requires working remotely with every region in the world
  • Past experience with SGAC team is a plus
  • Previous experience with slack and outreach campaigns is a plus
  • Creativity and comfort for proposing new and innovative ideas to strengthen SGAC
  • Excellent English skills, good computer skills, and speedy email response time
  • Some skills in the use of editing and/or graphic design and video software are preferable.
