Member of the Month

SGAC membership has been steadily growing throughout the years. Among our membership there are many incredible young space enthusiasts who should be recognized for their hard work and contributions to SGAC. In December 2009, the SGAC Executive Council decided to acknowledge one member per month for his or her outstanding work and contributions to SGAC and its goals, and we continued this until today. 

SGAC is proud to present the SGAC December 2015 Member of the Month: Stephen Ringler, Strategic Partnerships Coordinator

Steven Ringler

Stephen is passionate about space and linking people and businesses, having worked in the industry as a business developer, precision pointing system engineer and programmatic analyst. Stephen’s experience includes government, commercial, and international space organisations with previous roles at The Aerospace Corporation and current roles with the Space Generation Advisory Council. Stephen is now employed as Oxfordshire Space Cluster Development Manager at the Science Technology and Facilities Council (STFC), helping to further bolster Space activities within the county.

SGAC is proud to present the SGAC November 2015 Member of the Month: Jan Svoboda, SGC 2015 Congress Manager

Jan Svoboda

Jan Svoboda is a Czech electrical engineer, born in Tabor, Czech Republic. He currently lives and works in Darmstadt, Germany. Jan is a system engineer for end-to-end instrument chains on EPS-SG programme at EUMETSAT. Previously, Jan was a systems engineer on Modular X- and Gamma- Ray Sensor (MXGS) of the Atmosphere-Space Interactions Monitor (ASIM) at Technical University of Denmark, Lyngby. His professional experience includes various engineering and business related positions within the space industry as well as within academia. Jan is focused on space related engineering activities, especially systems engineering and project management. Jan is a co-lead of Space Generation Advisory Council Commercial $pace Project Group. He received Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Technical University of Denmark, Lyngby, in August 2011 and Bachelor of Science in Control Systems and Cybernetics from Czech Technical University in Prague, in June 2009. During his bachelor studies he spent one year at Milwaukee School of Engineering as a visiting student.

Oscar Ivan Ojeda Ramirez

SGAC is proud to present the SGAC October 2015 Member of the Month: Oscar Ivan Ojeda Ramirez, SA-SGW LOC

Oscar is a student of mechanical engineering at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. He has focused his career on the aerospace field, being one of the founders of GIDA-UN (Aerospace Research and Development Group). Currently he is the coordinator of the group, and mission chief/systems integration engineer for the Prometeo I mission. Recently, he co-organized the SGx:Colombia event, and was part of the ground team with the SA-SGW.

SGAC is proud to present the SGAC September 2015 Member of the Month: Daniel Brack, National Point of Contact for Israel

Daniel Brack

Daniel is an MSc student in Aerospace Engineering at the Technion in Haifa, his research focus is on satellite relative motion and orbital state estimation. Daniel is the NPoC for Israel (2014-2016), he has a BSc in Aerospace Engineering from the Technion and is an ISU SSP14 alumi. Daniel has a blog about his space related activities at http://dnl2space.blogspot.co.il/.

SGAC is proud to present the SGAC August 2015 Member of the Month: Bruno Sarli, Regional Coordinator for South America 

Bruno Sarli

After graduating in aeronautics in Brazil and space engineering in Europe, Bruno moved to Japan where he has been working in astrodynamics for the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency.  During this time, he worked in different mission with the latest launched last year.

Bruno has been with SGAC since 2012 when he was elected NPoC Brazil. After his term, he took the role of Regional Coordinator in South America and together with the South American team organized the first South American Space Generation Congress held in Buenos Aires.

SGAC is proud to present the SGAC July 2015 Member of the Month: Klaus Kornfeld, Small Sattelites Project Group Co-lead

After having studied astronomy and astrophysics with a focus on planetary science and cosmology at the University of Vienna and Uppsala University, Klaus has worked at a technology startup, before he joined IBM as a Mobile Consultant. Last year he began to pursue an MBA. Klaus has been with SGAC since 2009 in different roles on the SGAC Team and Project Groups.

SGAC is proud to present the SGAC June 2015 Members of the Month: Carmen Felix, Outgoing SGAC National Point of Contact for Mexico

For the last 4 years Carmen was the National Point of Contact for Mexico, representing SGAC in national events, strengthening the relationship between SGAC and the Mexican Space Agency and organizing SGAC conferences in different universities. During her time within SGAC, she has done several activities as coordinating scholarships and competitions like the IAASS-SGAC, and IAASS-Space Safety Magazine, as well as being part of the organizing team for SGC 2012. She is also member of the Space Safety and Sustainability group.

She holds a MSc. in Space Science from the International Space University in Strasbourg, France, and a BSc. In Electronics and Communications from ITESM in Mexico.

SGAC is proud to present the SGAC May 2015 Members of the Month: Sirisha Bandla, Space Generation Fusion Forum (SGFF) Manager

Sirisha Bandla

Sirisha Bandla serves as the Associate Director for the Commercial Spaceflight Federation, an industry association of commercial spaceflight companies. At CSF, Sirisha works on various policies with the aim to promote the commercial space industry and make commercial human spaceflight a reality. Before CSF, she worked as an aerospace engineer designing components for advanced aircraft at L-3 Communications. While at Purdue, Sirisha lead a team in the NASA-supported Reduced Gravity Student Flight Opportunities Program in which she flew onboard the ZERO-G aircraft and managed a group of engineers who designed, fabricated, and flew a microgravity science payload. She has a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical engineering from Purdue, and is pursuing a Masters of Administration at George Washington University.
