In 2019, SGAC launched a call for new Project Groups and added 4 new Project Groups for a total number of 10 Project Groups:
- The Space Medicine and Life Science Project Group (SMLS)
- The Space Technology for Earth Application Project Group (STEA)
- The Ethics and Human Rights Project Group (EHR)
- The Space and Cybersecurity Project Group (SC)
