Welcome to our webinar series on Space and Cybersecurity where we will explore their relationship from the technical, legal and policy angles. In this 1st edition of 2022 we welcome Miss Dimitra Stefoudi from the International Institute of Space Law and Mr. Alexandros Zacharis from the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity.

Dimitra Stefoudi is a PhD Candidate in International Space Law at the University of Leiden (NL). She conducts her doctoral research on “The Legal and Policy Aspects of Space Big Data” with support from the Netherlands Space Office and the European Space Agency. She gives lectures in space law for the Advanced LL.M. in Air and Space Law at Leiden University, focusing on the topics of space applications, privacy and cybersecurity in space activities, export control, and space resource utilization. She is Adjunct Faculty and Governing Member of the International Space University. She is Individual Member of the International Institute of Space Law and member of the European Centre for Space Law and the Nederlandse Vereniging voor Ruimtevaart.

Mr. Zacharis currently holds a position as an Officer in Network and Information Security for ENISA, dealing with the Design and Technical Implementation of Cyber Security Exercises (CYBER EUROPE). Prior to that, he has also worked as Deputy Cyber Security Manager for the European Global Navigation Satellite Systems Agency (GSA now EUSPA) in Prague, CZ, dealing with Risk and Vulnerability Management of the Galileo Infrastructure. In the previous years (2011-2015) he worked as a Security Officer for GRNET dealing with Compliance, Development & Maintenance of Security Policies. He has also served as the GRNET- CERT Representative (National Academic & Research Security Incident Response Team) dealing with: – Cyber Attack Analysis, Penetration Testing, Corporate Forensics – Malware Analysis, Incident Handling, Incident Response His research interests include: Computer Security and Computer Forensics, sensors and Data Hiding. He has also participated on DEFCON 22, presenting exploitation methods on PoS systems inside airports.
