The purpose of this webinar is to raise awareness about SGAC and to inspire the audience on space technologies and the potential which Malawi has in the space sector.

Patrick Ken Kalonde

Fulbright Scholar at St Cloud State University (United States). Prior to graduate studies, Patrick worked as a Junior researcher with Vector Biology Research Group at the Malawi-Liverpool Wellcome Trust. He is currently a National Point of Contact (NPoC) for Malawi in the Space Generation Advisory Council. His current research focuses on exploring innovative use of aerial images including drone data, high-resolution satellite data in public health and environmental protection.

Rania Toukebri

Space engineer and programs manager. UNOOSA Space4Women mentor and Regional coordinator for Africa in space generation advisory council.

 

Christopher Luwanga

Researcher at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore where I do research in space weather prediction focusing on the ionosphere. Christopher studied Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at New York University Abu Dhabi. He is currently involved in satellite development with a focus on electrical power system (EPS) as well as attitude determination and control system (ADCS) of the satellite. Christopher represents Malawi in SGAC as a NPoC.
