SGAC Announces the Winner of the SGx2025 Northrop Grumman Art Competition
In partnership with Northrop Grumman, SGAC is pleased to announce Andiswa Bahana Matobo as the winner of the Northrop Grumman SGx Art Competition!
Andiswa will attend the 10th SGx (March 10-11th, 2025) and SATELLITE conference (March 10-13th, 2025) in Washington D.C., USA. Congratulations!
Andiswa Bahana Matobo
Andiswa Bahana Matobo (1996), born and raised in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, is a self-taught artist, whose art career was established during the 2020 Covid lock down era after acquiring her B.Sc Honours in Geographic Information Science and Earth Observations at the University of Zimbabwe. She is passionate about merging her love for space exploration and art into one voice advocating for female artists in the STEM industry. As a young professional spatial data scientist, she strongly relies on remote sensed data for her day-to-day duties and with advances in technology, space innovation and exploration has produced more precise and accurate remote sensed data. She has gained experience working for the Bulawayo City Council where she accustomed herself with remote sensed data for monitoring water levels, pollution and the managing the environment. She believes that the space has grown into a market place for anyone willing to tap into it.
