SGAC Announces the Winner of the SGC Logo Competition 2026 – Space meets Art

SGAC is pleased to announce Surabhi Gunjur Sathish as the winner of the SGC Logo Competition 2026. After a thorough review of all the outstanding submissions, Surabhi’s design was selected as the logo for the Space Generation Congress scheduled to take place in Antalya, Türkiye. The winning logo elegantly captures the essence of the space conference, with its innovative design, creative use of space-themed elements, and the unmistakable Turkish element.

As part of the scholarship, Surabhi will be sponsored to attend the Space Generation Congress 2026 and the 77th International Astronautical Congress 2026 in Antalya, Türkiye.

Congratulations to Surabhi!

Surabhi Gunjur Sathish

Surabhi Sathish is a second-year Aerospace Engineering student at the University of Bath with a strong passion for space, robotics, and materials research. She volunteers as Head of European Space Camp, helping to organize the annual rocketry camp in Andøya, Norway, where she first participated in 2024 before joining the organizing committee. That same year, she was also selected to attend the prestigious CERN–Solvay student camp.

Surabhi has wide-ranging experience in robotics and autonomous systems. She independently taught herself image classification and neural networks to develop a waste-sorting robot, capable of separating recycling, organic, and general waste. At Bath, she is Team Lead of her university’s REXUS/BEXUS team, spearheading the design of a novel metal 3D printing experiment that will perform laser powder bed fusion with metallic glass powders in microgravity aboard a sounding rocket.

Her interest in advanced materials dates back to age 17, when she joined University College Dublin as an ad-hoc researcher and helped develop a macro-scale version of an atomic force microscope. Beyond technical projects, she is also an artist — her acrylic paintings have been displayed in exhibitions and sold widely, with proceeds contributing towards her goal of earning a Private Pilot’s Licence.

“I am truly honored to receive this scholarship and to have my logo selected. With no prior experience in logo design software, this competition challenged me to learn something new and helped me realise that a lack of experience should never be a deterrent. I am excited for the opportunity to attend both SGC and IAC 2026 in Antalya, and I look forward to making the most of this incredible experience!.”
