About David Kasibante:

David (Thandokuhle Mandla) Kasibante Muyinza is a Ugandan lawyer, space law and policy specialist, and researcher in Third World Approaches to International Space Law, space governance, and African geopolitics. He holds a Master of Laws from Makerere University and will shortly join the Uganda Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs as a State Attorney, advising the Government of Uganda on space activities and related legal matters.

David is serving his second term as Regional Coordinator for Africa at the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC), where he provides oversight to National Points of Contact across more than thirty African countries. He also serves as an Executive Member of the Aerospace Committee of the East African Law Society, chairing its Space Sustainability Sub-Committee and co-chairing two others. He is the founder of Space4Tomorrow, an initiative advancing space advocacy and youth engagement across Africa and beyond.

He is committed to an Africa that does not merely participate in the space age, but helps to shape it.

This is what David had to say about his election

“I am honoured by the confidence the SGAC community has placed in me for a second term”

In the years ahead, my focus will be on building a region that is more connected, more visible, and more influential, one where every young African, regardless of where they are, has a genuine pathway into the space sector. I want us to move from participation to leadership, and I believe we have everything we need to get there.
