The SGAC is seeking a volunteer to join the newly formed North & Central American (NCAC) Regional Team as Regional Executive Secretary.

Responsibilities

The Regional Executive Secretary tasks include:

  • Administration/moderation of SGAC North & Central American NPoCs mailing lists
  • Maintenance of the SGAC Regional NPoC database
  • Create collaboration certificates to acknowledge the work of NPoCs
  • Preparations for Regional Quarterly Meetings with NPoCs (preparation of agenda, change request documents, …)
  • Documenting regional meetings (taking minutes)
  • Responding to e-mail requests by NPoCs
  • Keep track of workplans and end-of-year review
  • Manage specific software tools used in the region (e.g. Trello)
  • Assisting the Regional Coordinators with miscellaneous operational needs

The Regional Executive Secretary (NCAC) is part of the North & Central American Regional Team and work under the supervision of the Regional Coordinators.

Estimated time commitment: Estimated at an average 4 hours a week.

Duration of the term: 2 years renewable for another 2 years depending on performance.

Note: This is an unpaid volunteer position.

Necessary Qualifications

  • SGAC membership: registration on the SGAC website and below 34 years of age at the time of recruitment
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, quick turnaround international environment and meet deadlines without compromising the quality of work
  • Strong or competent working knowledge of computer applications and management apps (Google Apps, Microsoft Office Suite, GIMP/Photoshop)
  • Excellent written English
  • Speedy email response time
