SGAC Announces the Winner of the 2023 SSS-PG Essay competition
SGAC is pleased to announce the winner of the 2023 Space Safety and Sustainability Project Group (SSS-PG) Essay Competition! The winner will get the opportunity to attend the 21st Space Generation Congress (28 – 30 September 2023) and the 74th International Astronautical Congress (2 – 6 October 2023) held in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Emilie Seneclauze (France)
Emilie Seneclauze is a half French and half American New Space enthusiast. Born in New York and primarily raised in Paris, she is currently studying in London as a third-year International Social and Political Studies student at UCL. Emilie’s academic focus lies in international relations and governance, while her passion for outer space has been nurtured through extracurricular activities.
Emilie’s dedication to the field of space exploration is evident in her role as Vice President of the UCL Space Society. She organized the society’s most significant event to date, the UCL Space Career Fair, where prominent speakers from esteemed organizations like NASA, ESA, and the UN were invited. Additionally, she has actively contributed to the Moon Village Association by assisting in editing a recent IAC paper.
Furthermore, Emilie’s commitment to research is evident through her written works. She has authored papers on various topics, including French investment in outer space, the role of private space companies in pursuing the SDGs, and the philosophical justification for private property in outer space.
Currently, Emilie is finishing her year abroad in Argentina and is engaged in her in-depth dissertation on Space-Based Solar Power, focusing on its feasibility and the implementation of effective strategies, particularly through public-private partnerships.
