WASHINGTON DC, UNITED STATES, 19 October 2019

The German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on October 19, 2019, with the aim of increasing the scope and breadth of the collaboration between the two organisations. A signing ceremony was organised at the 18th Space Generation Congress Closing Dinner held at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum in Washington D.C., United States. 

On behalf of their respective organisations, the Chair of the DLR Executive Board, Prof. Dr. Pascale Ehrenfreund, and SGAC Executive Director, Clementine Decoopman, committed themselves to work together in promoting space activities to young professionals and students, as well as to strengthen the space sector’s workforce through career development, education and outreach.

Among the activities considered under the MoU, DLR and SGAC expressed the intention of collaborating on joint activities at the Space Generation Congress and the Space Generation Fusion Forum, promoting DLR job vacancies through the SGAC Job Board and looking at opportunities for SGAC members to apply for internships at the German Aerospace Center.

The Chair of the DLR Executive Board, Professor Pascale Ehrenfreund said “As a strong supporter of YOUNG PROFESSIONALS and long-term partner of SGAC, the German Aerospace Center is delighted to sign this new memorandum of understanding. It creates a new framework of cooperation to support the next generation of a dynamic space sector“. 

The SGAC Executive Director, Clementine Decoopman said “DLR has been a deeply valued, long-time sponsor of SGAC as an organisation; and SGAC is grateful for this partnership. We are honoured to have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with DLR this year, and we hope this will pave the path for continued and fruitful collaboration in the future”.
