SGAC is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to join our People & Data Insights Team!

Team members will work under the supervision of the People & Data Insights Team Leads and the Operations Officer. These roles offer a challenging and rewarding opportunity to build professional skills while contributing to SGAC’s recruitment and professional development initiatives.

Volunteers with experience in web editing or human resources are especially encouraged to apply.

People & Data Insights Lead/Coordinator (1):

Responsibilities

People & Data Insights Co-Coordinator duties are as follows:

  • Work with the Current Co-Coordinate to oversee the activities of
    • Recruitment: Work directly with the Recruitment Team.
    • Onboarding: Work directly with the Onboarding Manager.
    • Web Team Liaison: Coordinate with the Web Team for HR-related updates.
  • Manage the general recruitment and onboarding processes, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and effective record-keeping, including managing data within the SGAC database.
  • Identify and provide opportunities for professional development for SGAC team members.
  • Serve on investigative committees as appointed by the Executive Committee (EC).
  • Advise on SGAC policies related to HR issues.
  • Coordinate and lead Action Teams focused on improving HR practices (e.g., Code of Conduct, Harassment Policy).
  • Participate in SGAC’s Anti-Harassment Committee.
  • Provide regular reports to the Executive Committee.

As part of the Executive Committee, the People & Data Insights Co-Coordinator will report directly to the SGAC Operations Officer.

This is an appointed volunteer position. The appointment will be for 2 years, with the possibility of renewal for additional 2 consecutive years.

Estimated time commitment: On average 5-7 hours per week

Necessary Qualifications

  • SGAC membership: registration on the SGAC website and below 34 years of age at the time of appointment
  • Interest in the space sector: Passion for space advocacy and youth empowerment.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, quick turnaround international environment and meet deadlines without compromising the quality of work
  • Strong English skills with attention to detail.
  • Teamwork: Ability to collaborate well and work independently with a high degree of self-organization.
  • Cross-cultural communication awareness: Experience in building and maintaining professional relationships across different cultures.
  • Quick and effective email communication.
  • Familiarity with SGAC’s mission, objectives, and operations.
  • Experience with human resources management, task scheduling, or recruitment strategies preferred.
  • Experience working with an internal database and managing sensitive data is a plus.
  • Previous experience with SGAC as a team member is an advantage.

Onboarding & Integration team members (3-4):

Responsibilities

The Onboarding Team Member’s  will work with the current Onboarding Co-Lead and assist the Coordinators with the following:

  • Onboarding of successful candidates with the support of the Executive Secretaries and the Onboarding Leads
  • Updating the active members volunteer
  • Developing and keeping detailed statistics of the recruitments
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary, including supporting professional development activities and team member feedback surveys

This is an appointed volunteer position. The appointment will be for 2 years, with the possibility of renewal for additional 2 consecutive years. This is a very high paced role and really rewarding.

  • Quick email response time
  • Familiarity with the SGAC mission, its objectives and structure
  • Experience with Website Management on WordPress is a plus
  • Experience with MailChimp is a plus
  • Prior experience with Human Resources management and task scheduling is preferred

Offboarding & Alumni Relations team members(3):

Responsibilities

The Offboarding Team Member’s  will work with the current Offboarding Co-Lead and assist the Coordinators with the following:

  • Offboarding of Team members after their due dates.
  • Updating the active members volunteer
  • Developing and keeping detailed statistics of the recruitments
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary, including supporting professional development activities and team member feedback surveys

This is an appointed volunteer position. The appointment will be for 2 years, with the possibility of renewal for additional 2 consecutive years. This is a very high paced role and really rewarding.

Responsibilities

The HR Recruitment Team member duties are to assist the Recruitment Lead and the Coordinators with the following:

  • Assisting other members of the Recruitment Team 
  • Reporting to the HR Recruitment Lead and the HR Coordinators
  • Coordinating recruitments and interview with the reviewers
  • Reception and processing of vacancy applications
  • Organization of interview sessions with pre-selected candidates
  • Onboarding of successful candidates with the support of the Executive Secretaries and the Onboarding Leads
  • Working with the other Recruitment Team members to ensure smooth recruitment processes
  • Skilled in graphics and writing for newsletters, organizing webinars and other creative activities
  • Build Team activities, team build-up, increase Team engagement
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary, including supporting professional development activities and team member feedback surveys

ThWeb & Data Management Team member duties are to assist the Recruitment Lead and the Coordinators with the following:

  • Reporting to the Web & Data Management Lead and the Coordinators
  • Coordinating recruitments and interview with the reviewers

  • Working with the other Recruitment Team members to ensure smooth recruitment processes
