Nicolas Moraitis

Co-lead for the Office of the General Counsel

Nicolas is a space lawyer from Greece, specialising in satellite licensing and space sustainability. He is passionate about space and its regulatory framework, currently part of Charter Space, working as a Satellite Regulatory Affairs Officer. Within SGAC, he has been an NPoC for Greece since 2022 and he was also co-leading the Sustainability Group of SGAPP that authored the SGAC Space Sustainability Policy. He has presented his research at conferences around the world, like the IAC and ASCEND. He is interested in making space more accessible to all while ensuring that its use is as sustainable as possible.

“I am beyond honoured to be co-leading SGAC’s Office of the General Counsel. Through this position, I aim to make sure that SGAC becomes even larger, with strong ties to different entities from the sector, while always supporting and respecting its members.”

Scott Schneider

Co-lead for the Office of the General Counsel

Scott is Special Counsel at the International Aerospace Law & Policy Group with a particular focus on business law, law reform and the regulation of aerospace activities. He is a previous director of the Space Law Council of Australia and New Zealand, a current member of the International Institute of Space Law and has worked in various capacities with the Space Industry Association of Australia and the International Space University.

Upon completing his Master of Laws in Air and Space Law at Leiden University, Scott led the regulatory team at Australian launch services provider Southern Launch to obtain the country’s first commercial space launch licenses. Scott has a passion for communicating the benefits of space and teaches law and economics to undergraduates and MBA students across a number of institutions.

Johanne Ayeley Ekue

Executive Secretary

Johanne Ayeley Ekue is a master’s student at the National Institute for Space Research, studying space geophysics. In addition to her studies and entrepreneurial endeavours, Johanne actively participates in initiatives such as “Mentor a Girl Gh,” led by Professor Nana Ama Browne Kluste. Through this initiative, Johanne aims to encourage and mentor girls, particularly those living in rural areas of Ghana.

Currently, Johanne holds the position of Executive Secretary at SGAC (Space Generation Advisory Council). She has previously contributed to various organizing teams, including the 20th Space Generation Congress in France, the 6th South American Space Generation Workshop, and the 5th African Space Generation Workshop.
