The Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC) is seeking highly motivated and responsible individuals to join the Executive Secretaries team as Elections Officers. This role is essential in ensuring a timely, transparent, and efficient election process for SGAC’s Regional Coordinators (RCs) and National Points of Contact (NPoCs), contributing to our organisation’s continued success and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Provide logistical support and manage communications related to the regional and national elections conducted by SGAC in your region.
  • Support the Elections Oversight Committee in ensuring that regional and national elections are conducted timely, impartially, and in line with SGAC’s rules and guidelines.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for administrative-related inquiries about SGAC regional and national elections in your region.
  • Promote the election process across SGAC’s global network to encourage participation and engagement.
  • Support updates and maintenance of SGAC’s WordPress website related to the election process.
  • Support the Executive Secretaries team with additional administrative tasks.

Necessary Qualifications

  • SGAC Membership: registration on the SGAC website and below 34 years of age at the time of appointment
  • Interest in the Space Sector: Passion for space advocacy and youth empowerment in the global space community.
  • Deadline-Oriented: Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, international environment and meet deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong organisational skills, a keen eye for details, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Effective Communication: Proficient in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Teamwork and Self-Organization: Ability to work collaboratively and independently, demonstrating excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Cross-Cultural Communication: Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with people from diverse international and cultural backgrounds.
  • Email Responsiveness: Quick and efficient email communication.
  • Familiarity with SGAC: Understanding SGAC’s mission, objectives, and organizational structure.
  • Residence in the region: Living in the region where you will serve as elections officer is a fundamental requirement to ensure timely coverage of the election and communication with voters and candidates.
  • Nationality: Nationality of one of the countries in the region and familiarity with their cultures are desired, but not required. Nationality will not be accepted instead of the residence requirement unless the candidate is able to guarantee the necessary availability and responsiveness to support local elections in the region.

This is a voluntary role and has no monetary compensation. Active members of SGAC teams are considered for nomination for SGAC Scholarships and Awards, including fee waivers or discounts for SGAC event fees.
