History with SGAC

Supporting as a member of and friend to SGAC since 2017, Scott took the opportunity to increase his involvement in SGAC’s executive and strategic priorities by joining the Office of the General Counsel in 2024.

Since coming on board with the central team, Scott has contributed with his experience in corporate governance, contracting and liability management to progress the internal mechanisms for smooth internal management and to help maintain SGAC’s professional reputation.

While receiving this award, Scott said:

It is anyway a privilege to be part of SGAC’s important mission and to contribute to its open culture. Having been accepted into the executive team with open arms upon joining the Office of the General Counsel adds to my sentiments with receiving the Pioneer Award. I truly was so warmly welcomed by the leadership team, which makes the performance of my work all the more manageable.

Most of all, I can hardly say enough about how vital it was to be alongside Nicolas Moraitis in the Office of General Counsel. Nicolas is a cornerstone in many matters and was my doorway into understanding much of the important SGAC ethos. My accomplishments are recognised to this degree only because of the culture of SGAC and because of Nicolas’ efforts.

Beyond my term in this role, I truly wish the best for the executive committee and all volunteers and members in their journeys. SGAC has certainly inspired me.
