Becky Ball

Becky Ball is a senior Karsh International Scholar at Duke University, majoring in Mathematics. Passionate about advancing the space industry, she has dedicated her time to leadership, research, and professional development in the sector. Through her two years as President of Duke Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS), Becky has led projects across engineering, policy, and medicine to inspire and connect students with opportunities in the sector. She is also participating in Duke’s Future Space Settlements: Lessons from History Bass Connections course, exploring the legal frameworks required to live in space safely, sustainably, and equitably.
Beyond Duke, Becky was a member of the inaugural class of the Prospero Space Fellowship in the UK and now serves as a Director, leading partnerships and programme development. Her professional experiences include internships with AstroAgency and Space Scotland, where she discovered an interest in project management and business development. Following graduation, Becky looks forward to contributing to the UK’s thriving space sector.

I am honoured to receive the SEDS Space Generation Fusion Forum Scholarship. SEDS USA has been integral to my undergraduate journey and entry in the space industry. I look forward to this fantastic opportunity to engage with the next generation of space leaders!
