The SGAC is the world’s largest international networking group for young professionals in the Space industry. And for the first time, we are hosting an event in Luxembourg!

Young professionals and students aged 18 to 35, who are dedicated to shaping the future of the space industry are warmly invited to this event. This is a unique opportunity to network, share ideas, and discuss how Luxembourg is pioneering the space industry of tomorrow.

This first edition of SG[Luxembourg] will take place in Luxembourg-city on Saturday 30 November 2024 and will feature keynote speakers, panel interviews, workshops and roundtable discussions, with recognised space leaders from industry, academia, and government.

Role Descriptions

Program Team (3 positions)

The Program Team is in charge of the creation and organisation of the day by shaping the topics covered during the event. In this role, you can expect to establish relationships with key leaders in the Space industry. If you want to inspire discussions that will be tackled by the big players of Luxembourg’s space industry, this role is for you!

Responsibilities:

  • Developing and preparing the program and the topics for the workshop and roundtables.
  • Selecting suitable speakers and experts.
  • Coordinating and moderating workshops, documenting key outcomes.
  • Supporting delegates in the generation of actionable resolutions to be later presented.

Estimated time commitment: 2-4 hours a week on average.

PR & Communications Team (1 position)

This team supports all marketing activities pertaining to the event, working closely with the central SGAC PR and Communication Team and the Event Managers. If you can explain complex topics in a simple drawing, this is the role for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating media relations and advertising before, during and after the event.
  • Create graphic designs and promotional videos for the event.
  • Coordinating social media communication, writing press releases
  • Developing promotional materials as part of sponsorship packages for the event.

Estimated time commitment: 2-3 hours a week on average.

Delegates Team (1 position)

This team member will be in charge of managing the Delegates, who form most of the attendees to the event and are the lifeblood of any SG event. These activities include running the application and selection phase, and managing communication before and after SG[Luxembourg]. Do you like being social and helping people? If so, this is the right position for you!

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating all contacts with delegates, pre and post-selection.
  • Supporting the selection of delegates.
  • Being the point of contact for delegates on issues/questions.
  • Creating a Delegates’ Database and Delegates handbook.

Estimated time commitment: 2-4 hours a week on average.

Logistics Team (1 position)

This team member will administer the logistics aspects of the event: schedule, venue, catering, social event program, closing dinner, and much more. Are you the friend who always organises the day out? If so, that position is the right one for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Organising the what, when, and how of the event.
  • Creating and implementing the schedule for the day
  • Liaising with responsible persons for venue set-up
  • Organising the social events, such as closing cocktail, visits, and after part
  • Finding hotels and travel information for the guest speakers

Estimated time commitment: 2-4 hours a week on average.

Sponsors Team (2 positions)

This team makes the event possible by finding and managing sponsors, ranging from industry players to government officials and space agencies. Could you sell a pen to BIC? Have you raised funds before? If so, this position is right for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Reach out to sponsors through the official SGAC channels.
  • Establish the sponsoring tiers in collaboration with the team.
  • Sort sponsors benefits based on contributions.
  • Persuade potential sponsors of the value of outreach through SGAC.
  • Maintain communication and engagement with sponsors.

Estimated time commitment: 2-4 hours a week on average.

Necessary Qualifications

  • SGAC Membership (free!): registration on the SGAC website and below 35 years of age.
  • Proven interest in the Space industry and its impact on the World.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, quick-turnaround international environment and meet deadlines without compromising the quality of work.
  • Good English skills with a keen eye for details.
  • Excellent teamwork skills and a high degree of self-organisation.
  • Global communicator: cross-cultural and communication awareness.
