Results of the Regional Coordinator Election in the Europe Region
SGAC held elections in July 2025 to elect the next Regional Coordinator (RC) in the Europe Region. We are happy to announce the selection of Alice Pais de Castro (Portugal) as the new Regional Coordinator for Europe.

Election Report
The election received one application for one regional coordinator position.
5 votes were received in the election. The election concluded with the following result:
- Alice Pais de Castro (Portugal) – 4 votes (80 %)
- Abstained – 1 vote (20%)
Alice Pais de Castro is therefore declared the winner of the election for Regional Coordinator of Europe.
About Alice Pais de Castro

Alice Pais de Castro is an astrophysicist with a Master’s in Astrophysics and Space Instrumentation. She works at the intersection of Earth Observation and business development, focusing on climate resilience and supporting startups and SMEs in navigating complex institutional programs. With experience at both ESA and in the European SmallSat sector, Alice has developed a strong understanding of how to drive innovation and real-world applications in the space industry. As SGAC’s NPoC for Portugal and Event Manager for SG[Portugal], her work centres on empowering others, breaking silos, and building a more connected, inclusive, and opportunity-rich space ecosystem for all.
