SGAC held elections in March 2026 to elect the next Regional Coordinators (RC) in the Asia Pacific Region. We are happy to announce that Byung Joon (Bryan) Ahn (South Korea) was elected as the Regional Coordinator for the Asia Pacific Region.

About Byung Joon (Bryan) Ahn
Bryan is a Senior Business Development Manager at Satrec Initiative (SI), where he leads international business development for advanced satellite systems and Earth observation solutions. His work spans the full lifecycle of overseas programs, including market strategy, customer engagement, proposal development, and long-term partnerships with government and commercial stakeholders. He collaborates closely with engineering, program management, and executive leadership to translate complex technical capabilities into mission-aligned, competitive solutions. Prior to this role, Bryan was part of the Optical Systems Team and served as Lead Payload Engineer for SpaceEye-T, SI’s flagship optical satellite system delivering 25 cm native resolution.
Bryan is an active member of the Space Generation Advisory Council, having previously served as National Point of Contact for South Korea. He strengthened SGAC’s local presence by fostering an engaged community through regular events and cross-sector collaboration, and contributed to organizing the inaugural Young Professionals Workshop in Korea, uniting stakeholders across industry, government, and academia.
