SGAC is seeking an ambitious and highly motivated volunteer to join the European Regional Team as Regional Communications Manager.

Role Description

The Regional Communications Manager (Europe) is part of the Europe Regional Team and works under the supervision and in close collaboration with the Regional Coordinators and the Regional Social Media Manager.

  • Position Type: Appointed volunteer position
  • Time Commitment: Estimated at 2–4 hours a week
  • Duration of Term: Two years (with the possibility of renewal for an additional 2 consecutive years)

Responsibilities

  • Spearhead content creation for the regional newsletter and calendar (soliciting materials, setting deadlines, approving final publications, and maintaining the SGAC brand).
  • Support Regional Coordinators (RCs) in disseminating Regional and Local Newsletters through Mailchimp.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of the regional PR and Communications Strategy.
  • Hold regular coordination meetings with the global PR Team. 
  • Support National Points of Contact (NPoCs) with online community management and audience acquisition. 
  • Support wiith managing the European SGAC Instagram page and Discord channel.

Role Requirements

  • SGAC Membership: Registration on the SGAC website and under 35 years of age at the time of recruitment.
  • Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced, quick-turnaround international environment and meet deadlines.
  • Tools: Strong or competent working knowledge of management apps (e.g., Google Apps, Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, GIMP/Photoshop).
  • Language: Excellent written English skills.
  • Communication: Speedy email response time.
  • Sector Knowledge: Experience or familiarity with Europe’s space sector.
