SGAC is seeking one enthusiastic volunteer to join our Regional Team as the Asia-Pacific Regional Social Media Manager. This person will work with the Regional Coordinators and the rest of the Regional Team.

Role Description

The Regional Social Media Manager is a role within the Communications Subteam of the Asia-Pacific Regional Team, with the main responsibility of managing the Asia-Pacific Instagram account (@sgacasiapacific)

Responsibilities:

The Regional Social Media Manager tasks include:

  • Keeping track of social media metrics (number of followers, impressions, likes & comments)
  • Responsibly managing the followers list to ensure notification of relevant materials
  • Promoting SGAC-related content by other SGAC accounts (SGAC regions, project groups, and NPoC activities)
  • Reposting relevant space content for the region (space agencies in the region, posts by global accounts that cover Asia-Pacific, etc.)
  • Reviewing and replying to messages, account tags, story repost requests, under guidance by the Regional Coordinators and Regional Communication Managers.

This is an appointed volunteer position. The appointment will be for 2 years with the possibility of renewal for an additional 2 consecutive years. 

Approximate Time Commitment: Estimated at 2-4 hours a week.

Duration of Term: Two Years

Role Requirements

  • SGAC membership: registration on the SGAC website and below 34 years of age at the time of recruitment
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, quick turnaround international environment and meet deadlines without compromising the quality of work
  • Speedy reply times on emails and Telegram (the regional team’s main communications tool)
  • Excellent written English skills
