SGAC is pleased to announce the winners of the 2024 African Space Leader Award. The winners will be sponsored to attend the 8th African Pacific Space Generation Workshop to be held on November 20-21, 2024, in Abuja, Nigeria.
The African Space Leaders Award aims to recognise four SGAC members for their contributions to the space field in the SGAC region of Africa as well as to provide opportunities to talented individuals to attend the 8th African Space Generation Workshop (AF-SGW) that will take place hosted by the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) and the Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT), Abuja, Nigeria on the 20th – 21st November 2024.
The Asia Pacific Space Leader Award (AP-SLA) aims to recognise SGAC members for their contributions to the space field in the SGAC region of Asia Pacific as well as to provide opportunities to talented individuals to attend the 10th Asia Pacific – Space Generation Workshop (10th AP-SGW) to be held on 22nd to 24th of April 2024, in Malé, Maldives.
The European Space Leader Award aims to recognise SGAC members for their contributions to the space field in the SGAC region of Europe as well as to provide opportunities to talented individuals to attend the 8th European Space Generation Workshop (E-SGW) held from May 31 to June 1, 2024, in Munich, Germany.

The African Space Leaders Award aims to recognise five SGAC members for their contributions to the space field in the SGAC region of Africa as well as to provide opportunities to talented individuals to attend the 7th African Space Generation Workshop (AF-SGW) that will take place in Harare, Zimbabwe during 29-30 November 2023.
Three successful start-ups founded by SGAC members, aim to recognise the passion for space of 9 outstanding students. As well as to provide them the opportunity to attend the 4th North, Central America and Caribbean – Space Generation Workshop (4th NCAC-SGW) to be held on September 9th and 10th 2023, at Colegio Federado de Ingenieros y Arquitectos, San José, Costa Rica.
ME-SLA aims to recognise SGAC members for their contributions to the space field in the region of the Middle East as well as to provide opportunities to talented individuals to attend the 2nd ME-SGW to be held on 6-7th September 2023 in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
AP-SLA aims to recognise SGAC members for their contributions to the space field in the region of Asia Pacific as well as to provide opportunities to talented individuals to attend the 9th AP-SGW to be held on 18-19th November 2023 in the Bengaluru, India.
