Blanca Guitard

Blanca is a mechanical engineer at Airbus Defence and Space in Friedrichshafen (Germany), where she has spent the past six years specializing in the structural analysis of optical instruments and highly stable structures. In parallel, she is pursuing an Executive MBA at the IESE Business School in Munich and looks forward to graduating soon!

Reading Neil Armstrong´s biography as a kid interested Blanca in the space industry from a young age.
After growing up between Connecticut and Madrid, Blanca completed a degree in industrial engineering at Universidad Pontificia Comillas – ICAI in Madrid. Following her studies, Blanca joined the European Space Agency as a Young Graduate Trainee at ESTEC´s Test Centre in the Netherlands, where she spent a year and a half working on mechanical engineering development for ESA.
Jumping from agency to industry, Blanca tested her entrepreneurial spirit at a small start-up which saw her active in both Portugal and the Netherlands.

Blanca’s enthusiasm for space and professional experience at ESA, Airbus and a smaller start-up company has given her a broad understanding of the industry from many different perspectives. Her technical knowledge and business-oriented mindset combine with a sense of responsibility for others to lead Blanca in her quest to explore in-depth how the space industry can contribute to a more sustainable world.
