Welcome to our webinar series on Health in Space: showing how space exploration is advancing and benefitting health(care) on Earth. Our speakers include experts in the field of space medicine and space life sciences, former or current astronauts, flight surgeons. These webinars are open to all to participate and offer an opportunity to engage with exciting speakers. The series is organized by the Space Generation Advisory Council project group Space Medicine and Life Sciences. We hope you learn a ton!

Our fourth episode will focus on what it is like to be a Crew Medical Officer. How do you lead your team into a healthy mission? How do you deal with the limitations and opportunities of being in space, when it comes to health and medical needs? Our stellar panellist truly has been in outer space and will talk about this and more… At the end of the session we will open it up to the audience, so you can ask questions to our guest yourself!

Our speaker of this episode is:

  • Dave Williams – Dave is a former Canadian Aqua- and Astronaut. He is a physician and was a Crew Medical Officer on board the Space Shuttle. After his space career he did many things, among which leading a hospital and writing children books. He is currently CEO of a biomedical company called LEAP Biosystems.

The session will be moderated by Jules Lancee, healthcare innovator here on Earth.
